That's great news, Les. Thumbsup Thumbsup

As President and CEO of GERN and GERN International, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome GERN of West Virginia to the growing family of GERN facilities throughout North America and the rest of world.
The economic and employment picture in Big Ugly is certainly looking more attractive (at least 3% so) in light of this important announcement. Goldth Goldth

I am looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship on my layout. I have a question for you. Did Dr Wayne hand everything over to you?
I believe Dr Wayne is the high-powered strategic corporate consultant responsible for convincing "Cookie" to take the family company (Gibson's Extraordinary...) international. Details of the actual arrangement have not been made public due to the "watertight" non-disclosure agreement.

Oh I see. It is all kept within the secret confines of the family owned company. In other words , Don't worry about it. Thumbsup
I have to complain about the 2nd article. It left out some very important info,,,,What kind of train was it steam\diesel, road name, # of units, manufacture (EMD-BLDW-Athern), passenger\freight, how many cars, did it have a caboose, helpers ? East or west bound, Extra or did it have a second section? These are very important points to the story and need answers. most importantly..... was the train OK, did it derail or catch fire? I would hate to hear that the locomotive got a boo-boo.
Its a scam from Nigeria.
They spelled hiring wrong.
I guess my spell check failed. And the pertinent info was given. I liked the headline for the article also did you read it carefully? Icon_lol
Oh yeah look at the date of the paper, you can probably figure out what kind of locomotive since C&O was next to last rail road to dieselize.

I liked the fact that the headline of the second article said "auto accident" rather than "train hits car", and that the article did not seek to blame the railroad for the fact that a person who was DWI had failed to stop for a train crossing. Fails the realistic modeling test, but a nice refreshing viewpoint anyways.

Btw - liked that EMD - BLDW - Athern for manufacturers Goldth

:hey: Man you guys are missing the good parts of the article. Read the headline. Was she a big ugly woman? What time did this happen? This is the late 40s what do you suppose the whiskey was? Notice the name of the sheriff and what he had to say. Did he say anything about the whiskey? What was the cause? 35
Checking the quality?

I got the whiskey testing part the first time I read the story, but I guess having the dead woman being named Mrs Jones and the Sheriff named Jones did not strike me as any more significant or funny than "on her way home late Saturday night" vs "accident happened at 6 pm", or having the accident happen on "W South Street" when the lady apparently lived on "S West Street".

Also, I just don't have all that much sense of humor about DWI deaths any more. I guess I've seen the aftermaths of too many accidents caused by impaired drivers.

Sorry about raining on your joke. But an A for effort.

Wasn't meant as a joke just a quirky play on words. A woman who is big and ugly isn't funny either
Maybe you should of been more PC.
