and restore the old profile, I dont know! Anyway, I just re-registered again
I came back last wk from a few days vacation in China. Really didn't do any train things, sorry, but I came back very relaxed and very jet-lagged. I visited the city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong province. A great city, lots of green, bananas, palm trees, etc. Very few westerners on the street, but it seems like everyone in Zhanjiang knows how to say "Hello" (in English) !
Made me feel quite welcome.
Hi Cid! Maybe Don or Mikey can help you with finding the old profile but I'm glad you re-registered so you are at least "found" that way and back in the fold.

Sorry about that, but now that you've established a new profile using the same username, I can't find the old one. Can you find one of your old posts and maybe that will give me a clue. If I find your old one, I may be able to merge it into your new one, but I need a place to start looking. A link to an older post just might do the trick.
Did you get to do any rail fanning in China? I hear that you can still catch the occasional steamer on the main over there.
Hey Don, YES, I thought I could not find any but I have found some now. Actually, the user name I registered before was "cid", not "cidchase" like on zealot. But either one is fine. I think my "cid" profile is OK if it can be restored to working and just use that one. I think my email was <!-- e --><a href="mailto:cid.chase@charter.net">cid.chase@charter.net</a><!-- e --> and that acct. is gone, so I got inactive somehow. So I have a few posts under username "cid".
I really did not see any trains running on this trip! Previously I rode the maglev on its short run from Shanghai to Pudong. This train runs at 430 kph and saves over an hour getting to the airport.
It is a bit of a rush when the inbound and outbound trains meet and pass each other at a combined speed
of over 500mph.
There is also a high speed train from Shanhai to Beijing; I hope to make this a future trip. I believe that
e-paw is right, there are still some steam locos in service. I have travelled in only two provinces, Jiangsu and Guangdong, and Shanghai, so most of the country I have not seen!
I travelled 37 hours portal to portal. Going I was OK, but returning I was totally jet-lagged! I think that
a part of me stayed behind![

OK, give me a little time and I'll check this out this morning. I was a bit tied up yesterday, it was our 49th anniversary and you just don't stray too far from your bride on those days...

OK, here's the deal. You have 24 posts under the name "Cid". I cannot change your email address since you are using it on "Cidchase", so here's our options.
*I can delete your new name and change your email addess on your old one..
*I can delete you old name and move all your posts to your new name,
*or, you can give me a different email address and I can change your address on your old account, and give you a temp password just in case.
The choice is yours, but if you asked me which is preferable, I'd say, use you new name and let me move all you old posts over, that way everyone will know who you are. Any of the three options are easy to do, so it doesn't matter which one we do.
