Over the years I always liken Atlas to be N Scale's equivalent of Athearn because all of the products Atlas offers in N..

Now I just may have proof.

One of my CH&V GP9s picked up that Athearn "growl".

Later today I will check the 200 out and see what ailing this unit.The 200 has been a smooth runner.

Thought I would share my thoughts on this..
When I was into N scale. I bought an Atlas RS3(going back a few years). My suprise when I flipped it over and found "Kato" stamped on the bottom of the drive. It was a smooth runner, ran great, which prompted me to buy Kato N scale when they came out with the GP35 and the SD7.
I'm not too impressed with their HO scale though.
Well I worked my magic and it was so/so.

I used the Bearden block magic for the second time(first was on a friends loco) and noted a vast improvement.
