I'm working from home today and my wife was watching CITY TV around 9 a.m. when she called out to me to come and watch.

A guy was on there promoting model railways -- I think he was either from the Credit Valley Railway Company in Mississauga or (at least) was promoting that hobby shop.

They were demonstrating (via 3 CN diesel models) the different scales of N, HO and O and also explaining how you can model scenery, buildings, even explaining how you can create buildings from kits and other sources.

They said that you can find more at this website -- http://www.citytv.com/cityline/home-garden -- and that they would have details there regarding how to convert and existing table into a MRR table, or something like that. I can't find anything on this site yet but maybe they will update it later today.

Did anyone else in the Toronto area catch this or find anything on this website?

Cheers,
Rob
I am at work...so to answer the question no. LOL!!!

But I'll check back on the website later to see what they have. Sounds cool.

Thanks! I just checked the site and I still couldn't find anything MRR-related.

At any rate, it was sure a surprise to see this, that time of day on this station, etc. It was only on for a few minutes.

I'll keep checking too.

If you click through the site, you can get the whole show.
I think the fellow doing it was a show regular, not from Credit Valley. Sorry there was no plug for either of the weekend shows, but then neither is really in Toronto.

Yes, I (later) had the impression that he was a regular CITY TV guy, but he seemed to know his stuff! He did plug the Credit Valley Railway store at one point though.

It was still an unexpected treat.

I haven't been able to find it. What heading/video title does it have?
If you followed Rob's link above, you have to click on the "Ultimate DIY Craft Table" segment:

The plug for Credit Valley is right in the final seconds of the video clip.

Thanks, Andrew... I see the clip now. Not sure what I think of that "recessed" N-gauge layout. I guess it's a kind of a novelty item -- you could scale put a Z-scale layout in there & get more area in & it may be even more attention-getting.

At any rate, it's great to see the hobby promoted on mainstream TV.

Rob
I've seen it now. That presenter is such a fibber pretending it's for the kids and not himself. :-)
That's cool. I've always just bought tables with a glass top already. Then all you have to do is build the box on the bottom.
