..but it's a start. I'm actually getting some work done on my soon-to-be layout. I have finally got the supports done, and just as soon as I varnish the floor beneath it, I will anchor everything down. [attachment=3578][attachment=3580]
The top will be 23 1/2 inches wide, by 5' long, by 32" high, from floor to top of benchwork. Like I said, it ain't purty, but it is functional!! Misngth Misngth
I actually have more pics, but I need to figure out how to rotate them!!! Wallbang Eek

If you use 'windows picture and fax viewer' to view the picture you can rotate them by hitting the rotate buttons at the bottom center. The picture saves to the rotation you select.
Nothing like getting some wood stuck together to get the juices & the imagination flowing..!! Looks like a mighty strong foundation for the layout...
Look forward to your progress & updates....Does the RR have a name yet..?
I use to hate the frame work part then once it was done I couldn't wait to lay some track then some bridges then some mountains then then then Icon_lol
Have fun Cheers
LynnB...Framing & track laying is what I enjoy most....Wiring comes next, then scenicking..just 'cause I have to do it...Which is why I haven't started on the third and FINAL phase of my layout.....What will I do next...?? Start over..?? Nope
Gus, Yes, the railroad has a name: Dubuque, Davenport, and St.Louis Railroad; it's "the Mississippi River Route." It will be fun to build, as I plan at least one major industry trackside, plus the river will be visible in at least one area of scenery!!
Well, as I mentioned elsewhere, my wife and I went to a train show in Galax, VA., last Saturday. Not many people, and only one layout that was operating. However.....we did make a couple of purchases, including the following:
my wifey talked me into to this one, so it'll go on her layout...[attachment=3601][attachment=3600] this one was my idea, but I'll have to see if I can get the overhead doors removed, so I can get a loco or two in there from time to time Goldth [attachment=3599]
more, later...

Chapter4....
gotta love those Conrails...[attachment=3610][attachment=3609][attachment=3608]
nice haul from that train show!
Finished up the benchwork, yesterday!! Well, 99% of it, anyway. Ran a train today. Had to check out the rails, and switches, and connections, and such....
You did real well from the train show, I like the color on the yellow building.
Thanks for the compliments. I like the color on that building, too! I looks like real wood! The only problem with his structures, most of them don't have widows or doors on the back side. But at $8.00 or less, I'm not complaining! He scratchbuilds them himself!! Eek
