Now let's see...If I were a railcar, where would I.... hide???
In a tunnel..?? 35
do you remember the details of the missing cars? (I mean other than having the numbers on a card)
Popcornbeer I think maybe you have some duplicated cards!!! Or maybe some of your cards have defective chads.... 35
Just like a real railroad.....
Didn't they find a boxcar at Penn Central station in a sealed up tunnel, that had been reported missing for years. I beleive it was a C&O also.
cid I thought chad was in Florida. Duplicate cards would have caused problems before now as they are how the destination is determined.

That sounds good as I model the 40s and a C&O car found recently in a P/C tunnel could be from the 40s. I wonder what the number was?
I know where they went T.T.S.Y "to the scrap yard" with the price so steel and the cost of running them the big heads sold them off as a tax break. it was a chas for clunkers deal for rail cars. look for some poor man with a blow tourch cutting them up in the rail yard when your where sleeping. i had this happen once and went crazy till i found them. i moved them to a older part of the layout that i was upgrading the rail lines one day as i pulled a back droop off to get to the hidden track their they sat. it was only 15 cars but it had 4 locos on it. no power was to the rails so couldn't tell they where their pc said they where in use before crash and after reboot the went m.i.a took me 2 weeks to find them.
Well after 11/2 hours of operating I found about 6 of them hiding behind other cars in yards. One has been repainted.

Ok so I forgot to pull the old card. I did remember to make a new one. I also found one on a locomotive run around track, how it ever got there I will never know.

Yea haz-mat, passenger trains flush onto the tracks and he is worried about haz-mat OK.
Can't read the loco number, H-5, or H-6?, I believe all the H-4's were gone by the late 30's. My guess would be, a Bachmann Spectrum, which would be an H-5. In any case I do like C&O articulated steam.

Yes it is an H5. Yes it is a Bachmann. No it doesn't run like a Bachmann. It is one sweet running Locomotive. It is used only on my crooked creek mine run. It takes 18 empty cars from Clifton Forge. Pulling 12 and pushing 6 with caboose on each end. The reason for this is that there are mines going both directions and no place to pass. Makes for an interesting run. When it finishes the run it goes to the round house where it stays until next crooked creek run.
Do you mean Clifton Forge, as in Clifton Forge, VA? Or is there another Clifton Forge? (just curious)

Clifton Forge Va. I choose there because it was a major yard for the C&O. Also I needed a place to start. The only other I knew of at that time was Peach Creek WV which was not an appropriate yard for what I wanted. My original plan was to add to what I have and go to Huntington Shops and Russell, with a Y going to Peach Creek. But not going to happen. Health and Finances stopped that dream. I will have to be satisfied with what I have.
Lester, as soon as I can dig them out of my stacks of floppies, I'll send you some photos my wife and I took when we were there last summer.

Sounds good to me. Did you stop at the C&O Historical society while there?
Les, We didn't know about it, unless you're refering to the museum at the old rr station, which wasn't open, yet.
The historical society owns that, They are on main street, when you look out their front window you are looking at the yard.
