Full Version: Best real places for variety of power

I was just looking at a photo of Cincinnati Union Terminal's roundhouse and I began to wonder what was the best terminal in the nation to see a variety of equipment?

Our local CUT was a meeting place for Eastern, Southern, and Pocahontas roads.
Here's the variety that I am aware of tying up there:

-PRR: T1s, K-4s, and a streamlined K-4.
-NYC: 4-6-4s, streamlined J-3as
-B&O President class and USRA 4-6-2s...including the streamlined Cincinnatian
-Southern PS-4s
-N&W Js and streamlined Ks
-C&O hudsons
-L&N pacifics

To my knowledge, it was the only terminal in which one could find streamlined power for the N&W, C&O, NYC, and PRR. In most major cities, such as Chicago and New York, the NYC and PRR used separate facilities. Of course, Cincinnati is lacking in western roads and other regionals (no NKP Nope )

What other great places can you think of on par with CUT?

Would you care to elaborate on what was there? For instance, my beloved NKP didn't make beyond East St. Louis..so it didn't have any contact with the roads on the other side of the river. I am not as familiar with the terminal layouts of those cities...but am interested in learning.
I'd guess that Buffalo, NY would've been an interesting spot.

I'm attempting do research the stated stations. So far...

Buffalo's Central Terminal served the NYC, CN, PRR, and TH&B. The Lackawana and NKP tied up at a different terminal. I don't know what power the CN or PRR took into Buffalo, but I know the NYC used Js, streamlined Js, Ks, Ls, and Niagras.

St. Louis Union Station appears to have served the MoPac, Wabash, B&O, L&N, and NYC. I get the impression that others were served by it as well, but I haven't yet found a list.

I can't find much on KC's Union Station. I'm also trying, unsuccessfully, to find the goods on Peoria which I believe had an impressive list of tenants (but not an impressive list of named trains)
