Hey Guys-It's been a while since I posted anything.I have been busy with various projects.
Here are a few freight cars that I rebuilt. From left to right-
First is my version of a covered gondola for carrying rolls of metal.
Next is a bulkhead flat car that I added a load to.It is heavy timber platforms that would be used by tracked cranes so they would not sink into soft dirt or mud.
Lastly is a flat car that I removed the load,added a new floor and end hand rails.It is now being used as an idler flat.

Sorry about the size.I'm going to try and fix that. The cover was made from styrene.

Pretty cool! Were these cars "train show junkers" you rebuilt, or new cars that you detailed?

PS - perhaps one of the Moderators can help figure out why the picture is small. I usually post my photos as an attachment, and resize them to 800 pixels width. If the file size is too large, then I save it as a lower resolution. Perhaps if you post what kind of camera you are using and what editing software, someone will know and can help you out.

My camera is a Kodak with 7 mega pixels and I use Irfanview for editing.
The other problem is this-before I upload the picture I make sure it is a good viewing size but for some reason Photobucket resizes it to a smaller size.

Bob...When you post pictures to PB, don't re-size them. First take the pics at about a .3 Mb resolution and post them at that size, as PB will resize them down. At that size, you can post the IMG link here, and they'll be just fine. You can change the size via the camera's menu.

I too would like to see larger pictures. Which line of data are you copying from photobucket? My photobucket shows five lines, with the fifth one being for posting thumbnails, which I suspect is what you've got.
If you click on the thumbnail image in photobucket, you'll get an enlarged view of that photo. If you then click on the line of data shown as "IMG Code", the data will automatically be "copied", then, all you have to do is place your cursor in the composition window wherever you want the picture to appear and click on "Paste". The information will appear as a line of code in your composition window here, but will automatically appear as an actual image as soon as you hit "Post".

Those cars turned out great, Bob. Are the covers removeable, or fastened permanently to the car? Likewise for the load: it's not always possible to make such additions removeable, but doing so increases the possibilities for each car - not only can they run as empties, but you can also make other loads for the same cars, increasing their utility.

Kevin-Wayne,Thanks for the replies and comments.I appreciate them.The covers and load are permanent.I may down the road build another bulkhead flat car with interchangeable loads but for now this will work. These three cars were a blast to work on.Its amazing what one can do when you don't throw out your scrap.
