My Wife saw this flyer for The Reading Railroad Heritage Museum, so we decided to go on sunday. Although the Reading Company Technical & Historical Society being over 30 years old the museum has found it's new home in 2008 and seems like they have a lot of projects on there plate, not only restoring all there locos and stock but also an old small steel mill that houses their group

We had a sweet time, the guide (think his name was Nick) we went with made the tour last for 2 1/2 hours Eek he also recommended to have a meal at the restored Tamaqua Train Station, which also restored the station restaurant to close as possible looks. http://therestaurantatthestation.com/ The meals were great and they have Yuengling on tap Cheers

Way cool! And Yeungling on tap as well!! Awesome! Cheers

I like the Lager, Porter, Black and Tan, and every once on a while, on a really hot day after following the mower around the yard, an icy cold Light Lager. Thumbsup

The restaurant interior appears to be beautifully restored to authentic period appointments and dressing the wait staff in period attire is a nice touch. I'm just a little jealous! None of that cool kind of thing was going on when I last lived up there in the late '80's.

Glad you had a good time and thanks for the great photos.
