MTW is reverting to free subscription? So a poster says over on modelrailroadforums.

-Crandell
Why did they go to a paid subscription anyway? I only went over there a few tiems when they were practically brand new. I only looked at some of the modeling, and was impressed! But, I was extremely turned of by what I felt was an "elite club" attitude. I always thought they charged for membership simply to keep the "rif raf" out.
I used to visit there alot because there were great ideas and techniques to be learned. The "elite" attitude didn't bother me one bit, actually it was rather amusing, and i do have to admit, some of those guys DO have the right to have a bit of prima donna in them. Good work for sure.

On the doing away with the subscription thing, don't know if it is true, but if so, they are probably finding out they can make more off advertising than paid subscriptions.
"MTW?"

Great stuff there - yeah, maybe a bit of a "tude," but if you can "walk the walk," then I suppose it is okay to "talk the talk."
Yes, MTW has gone back to being free. Apparently there was a huge decline in membership when it went to a pay system. Lots of nice work over there.
That's the first time I've been there, some nice stuff to be sure. Just curious though, is it all HO? That seems to be the only major heading there, but yet I see feature photos that are N and O scale as well, so I'm confused. :?: :?:
The forums seem like mostly HO, some N and even some Z in there. There is an ad/link on the front page for Industrial Models and he does all O scale stuff.
