I have a Walthers HO scale 16 wheel depressed center flat, that I had nothing to haul on.
One day, I was staring at some empty printer cartridges sitting on my desk, when the lightbulb came on.

I could make something out of them and use it as a load. They came from my Epson All-In -One Printer.

First, I super glued three of them together to form one unit.

Next, I glued .020" thick Evergreen styrene to the sides and ends.

Next, with bits of styrene tube, rod and strips, I glued them to the unit to make conduit and piping.
I also added strip styrene to the bottom to make a bottom frame.
I also added cut pieces of .020" styrene, glued to the sides as acess panels.
The LPB's are for scale.

Here it is loaded on the depressed center flat. Tomorrow I'll paint it and add some decals. I have no idea what it is.
Any thoughts?

Looks to me to be a GERN #7B (that side-mounted electrical box was the give-away that it was a Model B) Flux Roaster - used to bring the crushed ore to a uniform moisture content before milling. It was a big improvement over the #6 Roaster, as it recycles the removed moisture, injecting it, under pressure, into stock whose moisture content is too low. I hope that you're planning on adding lifting lugs for the plant crane to move it to its operating pedestal.

It never dawned on me till Wayne mentioned it, but sure as heck, thats a GERN 7B Flux Roaster if i ever seen one .

BTW ED, that was an OUTSTANDING IDEA!

I once wanted to make a coffee table book of truck loads. Take a picture of interesting loads on the backs of trucks at rest areas, figure out what they are, and publish a book This thread reminds me of that. next time I see something on the back of a truck or flat car and I don't know what it is, perhaps it is just some extra large printer cartridges, with fribbitzes glued to the side, and spray painted white

You could always claim that the information is classified and you can't tell them.
Or that they wouldn't tell you!
