I can't remember if this has been posted here before, if it has, please forgive me. For those of you who haven't seen it, it is really something. This is the one where the wind is blowing the train around and starts it rocking, the covered hoppers go over, and the tank car and boxcar come chasing the loco.

Sure wouldn't have wanted to be riding in the cab of that engine when the rest of the train piled up against it! I can remember once being in the cab of an engine when the engineer wasn't paying attention and slammed into a cut of cars at about 10 mph! Got thrown out of the fireman's seat - against one wall of the cab and back to the other and it didn't feel none too good!
This one just amazes me, seeing that tank car without the front truck, bouncing its way toward the loco, seemingly in slow motion, you can't help but think "this is going to be bad."
Luckily, it wasn't something like LPG or ethanol. Or cholorine. At least, according to the video information. It could have been a LOT worse. There are some interesting others linked to that one, including one that is a bit liek what FCIN described - someone forgot to line the switch and the overtakign train heads into the siding and slams intot he rear car of the train. ANd a rather awful sideswipe, the video is from the cab of the train that had a take siding signal but the guy coming the other way on the main didn't bother stopping. In that one you can see a crew member bailing out of the loco of the train that didn't stop where it was supposed to.

And of course plenty of videos of people in cars and trucks being absolute IDIOTS around crossings. I have a hard time feeling any sympathy for the drivers who do that stuff. Their innocent passengers, and the crew of the train who has to live with knowing that they just killed someone, yes. It boggles the mind how people don't seem to have the least bit of common sense. DO they think trains just never run on the track they just parked across, or do they think the train will just stop?

I've seen that one before. I wince everytime I see that impact from behind. :o OH NOOOOES!!!
If I remember, correctly that situation occurred because a tornado came too close to the track while the train was there.
If I was riding in that trailing unit and seen that tank car bouncing along on the ties and heading my direction I would have said Oh ----! and then proceed to soil my pants.

Amen Brother! Unless you could outrun the train like Harrison Ford - you sure couldn't jump!!!
