I watched this movie twice yesterday..The first time it was a exciting movie even though I caught the errors.

The second time the movie was still exciting but,the errors really stood out..

Did anybody notice the real engineer in the cab of the trailing SD40 as the SD40s pulled from the yard and in front of the 777?

Did anybody catch what sounded to be a demonic growl from 777 several times during the movie?

My biggest chuckle was when Washington said "you can't back this consist"..IIRC they had 24 cars.

How did they turn 1206 at the mill?

Overall its a exciting movie if one watches as a movie and overlooks the obvious errors.

I will more then likely buy this movie.
I haven't seen it yet. I'll wait a bit until the local Blockbuster has a couple of previouly viewed copies on the shelf. I don't think I've paid full price for most of the movies I own for years now. Icon_lol
Sunday - I'm watchin' the Daytona 500 - wife sez "I'm goin' to walmart... OK... she's back in a couple of hours - "hey, gotcha somethin'... she tosses me a DVD - Unstoppable - on Blu-Ray no less! yeeeeeha!

so we watch the movie - good stuff, compelling story line, lots of action, stunning cinematography & color, but what really topped it off for me was the "Extras" showing how they shot the movie. Makes the cost of the DVD worth it.

I'm not necessarily a "movie guy" - last movie I really got into was Master and Commander; Far Side of the World - but this one is worth watching.
Tetters, better hurry, the Blockbosters are slowly but surely shutting down. Too slow to change their business model and Netflix ate their lunch. One of the ones near me is stopping rentals as of Thursday and then will sell off the store inventory - so this could be your chance.

My family and I watched it in the theatre in December and really liked it.

We counted down the days down for when it was going on sale on DVD (on Feb. 15 in Canada), and we bought a copy from Costco that very day!

Since then, I have watched in 2x (3x in total) and my kids have watched it 4x (as kids have that tendency, to watch movies/shows over and over and over). I didn't get into it as much the 2nd time -- I think I was preoccupied with work! But I really got into it again the 3rd time.

Despite the language, it's a great movie -- really enjoyed it. It's one of the best train movies ever as it's one constant series of train scenes! The trains aren't incidental or occasional (as with some "train" movies) but they're constantly on view in this movie.

It even makes me want to go back to Pennsylvania -- we enjoyed an awesome train-themed trip there in 2007!

The movie also shows some good character development between Frank and Will, which usually doesn't happen that well in high-action movies.

I was surprised by how realistic it was and that it did roughly follow the real-life event, although they "Hollywood-ized" the train speed & added a few incidents, of course. The "how-they-made-it" extras are also good, and one of the main reasons to buy the DVD.

Rob,It is a exciting movie and I haven't watch the "how "part yet but, know there was a belly packed used.

I'll buy mine in 4-5 weeks after the rush is over and the price falls..The only movie I paid release price for was James Cameron's "Titanic".
We have a store nearby that rents current releases for $1.49 (used to be $.99), and they have a good stock. A few months later, a whole lot of them go up for sale for around $10. You get a discount for buying two DVD's or more, and another 10% off if you have one of their discount cards. We've paid as little as $7.00 for a current release, slightly used that I've seen new at Wal Mart for $20-25. I'll look for this one when they move it to the sales bins.

Release is always when DVDs are the cheapest. Most major chains knock 20% off at release.

Wait after the rush then they knock another 20-25% off from that price..I bought several movies for half price 4-5 weeks after the release rush..
Just another goof point, when 777 hits the horse trailer it takes out right ditch light but later the left light is out 357
Sounds to me that it's tough to find good "continuity" people any more ... they should hire me! I'm so detail oriented it drives my daughter to the point of getting up and walking out of the house muttering, "Nit-picky old man ...!"

she always comes back in ten or fifteen minutes ... the power walk she takes is like counting to ten before exploding for her. She's really a pretty good kid, as far as 27 year old kids go ... it's just ... her dad can be difficult sometimes when it comes to getting the details right!

She's O.K. with, "it's close enough."
That'll never work for me!
