Hello dear friends,

My name is Milen Peev and I am from Bulgaria. I collect model trains in TT-scale (1:120) mostly from DB and DR (German railway operators). I have no permanent layout for now, but here are some of my trains:

There are more, but I have no pics of all.
Below is a video of one of my trains, taken from the last passenger coach Smile

Also, I develop a free layout planning software, called SCARM,
which is presented in a separate topic, so if somebody is interested,
we can discuss it and share ideas about current features and
new functions.

Hi Milen, and Welcome to Big Blue.

Good looking trains and in a scale almost forgotten in North America - nicely done. Thumbsup

Very interesting trains! Welcome. Welcome
Welcome to Big Blue!

I've already got my track down, so have no need for the software, but on the other hand, I wouldn't mind having a nice drawing of the trackplan, so I'll have to check it out.
Welcome Welcome
TT scale, yes, almost forgotten here in the U.S. I'm hoping that you get the opportunity to start building your layout,.......so we can watch ! Big Grin Big Grin
If my memory serves me rightly, TT was "Table Top". Being between HO, and N scales, a reasonable layout could be built on a dining room table. It would be a welcome addition to Big Blue, and I think TT modelers would find a "comfortable home" here.
Thank you all, for a hearty welcome Smile

Yes, TT is coming from “Table Top” and was invented in USA by Hal Joyce in 1945. The strange thing is that TT-scale is almost unknown in US today, but it is the most popular scale (together with HO) in Russia and Eastern Europe. The main producer of tracks and rolling stock is a company, named Tillig from Germany, but there are many others that producing almost everything in 1:120 scale. I don’t know are there TT-scale producers in US, but there are TT modelers for sure in the TTnut web forum.

Here is one Russian DCC-controlled TT layout: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW9IrMSYS...re=related. I hope, that I will be able to build something like this (but smaller, may be) when I move to my new apartment, later this year.

Welcome to Big Blue.

I used to dabble in TT Scale when I was in Germany back in the late 70's but abandoned it after returning to the US because of the very poor availability of components here. I had a lot of fun with it back then but work only with HO Scale now.
Hi,

I have heard of TT scale/gauge in fact I have a plastic bag from a train show way back that reads "TT Die Idale scale" not sure if I spelled it right but in english it is"the ideal scale"? the company that was giving out the bags and catalog/flyer was from East Germany may have been TT Bahnan? Cool looking trains but lack of NorthAmerican models may have been the reason for not catching on here.

Great pics by the way, post more when you can. Are there kits in TT or is there only RTR(ready to run) items.
Morning all. Off to early meetings in Raleigh [free breakfast]. Then a ribbon cutting and a TV interview. Busy day for me. Rains gone and fairing off. Temps to drop 20 degrees by evening. Was in the 80's yesterday.

Have a good one.
WELCOME, Mixy!! I vaguely remember TT, but just about the time I got really interested, nobody seemed to have any avilable. You have some great rolling stock! I think you'll find this is the friendliest forum anywhere!
Thank you all again Smile

The company that AF350 mentioned is called Berliner-TT-Bahnen (BTTB) and now is part from Tillig. And the slogan means exactly “The Perfect Scale” Smile

Here is my BR86 steam engine, produced by BTTB, may be 25 years ago or even more:

It is very detailed and even now is moving like new Smile

Tillig produces mostly ready-to-run items in TT and HO, but they have also some DIY track kits. They are very famous in Europe by their track systems and their DIY flex-points for TT and HO:

Those points can be bended to any type – normal, curved or Y-type with any radii, suitable to your needs:

May be there are Internet stores, which import Tillig products in USA, but I don’t know them.

Greetings,

Mixy
