I was just thinking we could "shorten" the name to something like:
Northeast & Southwest Railway...
That makes it a bit easier as far as a name.. And it still conveys the "Name that works anywhere" and the ID could be N & S RR

As for painting and decaling cars and locos ,Why? you can but undec cars in most of the scales (some you can get data only) why paint them ,a nice glossy finish,decals , followed but a matte or flat over coat and the rolling stock is done.
Locos? pick out a colour scheme you like ,paint out the origonal name with matching paint and decal to your hearts content.If you need an example Google Canadian Pacific or Florida East Coast to see what they both did with ex UP units.
There are other roads that have done this too.

John,I was trying to find a easy way to add your idea to models without a lot of hassle or added cost-unless you want a paper railroad where there is no cars or locomotives but,what fun would that be?
You got a great idea that should be fun if properly done instead of following the old route of big blue railroad (or whatever it was) why not find a better way?

That was the origonal intent which was to have railroad owned by the members of Big Blue but not named for the website.
If you guys want a holding company why not just call it Big Blue Rail and be done with it and my idea.
Why can't we have the railroad named with it's subsidiaries sublettered or just with the owning railroad's lettering. Ohio Central and New York Central did it. Like it or not, the owning railroad IS the holding company.
How about we keep coming up with brainstormed names so we can eventually create a poll with several choices?
