Yep my other hobby, the one that's consuming my time this summer more then usual. I switched to baitcasting gear, added musky to my hunt list, and now driving further for lakes. This is getting as expensive as model railroading Icon_lol

Know what you mean..
Besides me and steve, no one else likes fishing?
I have been an avid fisherman all my life, but for the 14 years I ran the railroad, located on 2 fine fishing waters, I never wet a line. Now, there is justice in the world as this is 100 feet from my back door.[attachment=8177], and I have permission to fish anytime I want.
He has it stocked with bass, blue gill, crappy, catfish, and a hybred grass eating carp that won't reproduce. They are monsters. There are 23 of them and they keep the weeds just right,[attachment=8176]
I go over when I feel like it, and quit when I have caught 6. I have put them all back so far, but lookng forward to fresh fish when the water cools this fall. They need thinned a bit.
I hope to go to Canada with my brother next year, and do some railfanning there too.
Charlie
You don't need beatings or torture to get any information out of me...just hand me a fishing rod and tell me I have to fish...by golly, I'll tell you anything you want to know. Torture, I tell ya, pure torture...

Although...it's my understanding the doing it with dynamite can be entertaining....
My favorite passion beyond trains is cat and carp fishing..I like those fish because both are tackle busters that know how to bend a pole and stretch a line.

I've caught one muskie in my life a 15 1/2 pounder on a minnow while catfishing..I still have the scar on my left index finger from where he nailed me while I was trying to remove the hook.I decided to cut the line and let 'em go about his business..
