OK, we have a few entires in this search for a logo/herald for our global railroad, the Greenwich & Meridian. What we'd like to do next is to find out which one, or ones are more appropriate. This is not a contest as such since there are no winners. What we'd like to do if possible, is to take aspects of some of these and incorporate them in some way to a series of heralds that span the years. What we're thinking about is perhaps a pre-1900, early 1900's (20's-30's), later 1900's (50's-60's) and a modern set. There would be a group of logos suitable to fit each of these eras since on type wouldn't fit all eras.

I need feedback. Are these acceptable blocks of time? Would we need more or fewer, or different time periods? We also need feedback on which of these submitted logos we should use, and perhaps in which era would they belong in. I will then do my best to combine the aspects of these logos into a usable set of heralds and logotypes for each era. This may be difficult to do, but I'll give it my best shot. You can see the intent here so feel free to post your ideas and comments as well as vote in the poll. You may pick one or all entires, we're just looking for ideas and preferences at this point.

You have 15 days to select your choices and to add your ideas and comments. If you wish, you can contact either myself or Catt with any questions or private comments. It would be nice to launch this railroad by the first of the year.
I'm torn between Ralph's entry & MasonJars submission Nope . So, I gave my vote to both of them..

Tanks, tok carofit. Thumbsup
Funny what a week or two does to one's opinion about the choice of logo. I was all set to back ezdays number 1 entry with the almost Pan Am style and then tonight as I looked through the contenders I thought FCIN's entry would look very good on modern era shortline or regional loco and corporates. Go figure. Nope

Lest we forget, those that haven't voted only have two more days to do so. Help us if you can and pick something that strikes you and we'll take it from there. Those that have voted, a big THANKS to you all... Thumbsup
The poll is closed. We thank you for your participation, either by submitting something, or by voicing your opinion. Since this wasn't a contest, there are no winners per se, but your feedback has given us something to go on that we hope will allow us to get a final version that may incorporate features from some of the more popular entries. That's going to be a challenge in itself, so give me a bit of time for the results.
Oh yeah, one other thing for those that submitted their ideas. If any of you have any objections to us using part or all of your submission and using it for our G&M group of logos, let me know now. I don't think anyone would object, but here's your chance to declare copyright protection. Eek Otherwise everything submitted is fair game and I'm no where's near coming up with the final draft. One thing I do know, we will have a number of logos that will be ear specific so there's a chance that we will use some of all that was submitted.

Let's see if we can't launch our global railroad by the first of the new year. Thumbsup
