The Toronto Christmas Train Show is on next weekend and my son & I are planning to show our 1x4' switching layout. We're setting it up at The Platelayers' booth. The Platelayers is a British railway modelling club in the Toronto area and we are simply setting up our layout on one of their tables. If any Gauge members are at the show, it would be great if you could stop by.

BTW, the show is on both Saturday & Sunday, but we're planning to only be there on the Saturday.

Cheers,
Just recently got back from the Toronto Christmas Train Show. My son & I were demonstrating our small (micro) switching layout at the Platelayers (a club of British model railway enthusiasts) exhibit. We had a great time operating it and showing it off to several interested people.

Being an enthusiast of the British prototype, I was also pleased to see several other British layouts there -- the retro Hornby Dublo layout, a good S-scale layout, several British live-steam models, not to mention a few others near us at the Platelayer's table.

If we weren't operating trains, we were watching them and if we weren't doing that, we were talking to great people about trains.

Just wondering if any other Gauge members were there this weekend & had any feedback.

Rob:
I think I've booked your spot for tomorrow. I'm bringing a mechanical interlocking plant (very small -- 11 levers).
Just got back from a US trip on Thursday and haven't had time to prepare a proper demo.
There was a time when most of the layouts at a show were either British or N-Trak because noone else had portable tracks.

Thanks -- sorry I won't see you this time. Hope you have a great day tomorrow.
Rob: what was the crowd like on Saturday? Today was almost deserted.

That's not good news. It certainly wasn't deserted but the numbers were down. There was a steady stream of people stopping by our tables -- adults and kids -- but the numbers seemed down as well as the number of vendors. I guess it's simply too expensive to rent the International Centre?
