is this weekend, January 10 & 11. I've never been to one of these events. Are they worth going to? The Cal Expo website says parking is $10.00 but doesn't show what admission is. Anybody know?

Thanks, Doc
Hi Doc, i was just at the Great Train Expo last weekend in Anaheim, it was $7.00 to get in for admission. I dont know if the prices change from show to show or not...

It was an alright show, lots of neat layouts, but not alot to buy there in the way of good stuff, well at least to me. There was alot of G and O scale for sale, a fair amount of N and not a lot of HO lol so it wansnt very good for me as im in HO lol

All around it was an okay show, but it has been better in the past....
you may get different vendors in No Cal than we do down here. Which vendors show up will in large measure determine whether there is a lot of ho stuff or mostly large scale or Lionel. Of course one guy who shows up at most of the shows is the Tool Man, and I seldom go to a show without coming home with a few more tools! Do you know other model railroaders in the Stockton area who might go with you. Car pooling is a great way to save on the parking fee by splitting the cost.
After getting back fromthe "Great" Train Expo, I have renamed this topic. Maybe my expectations were too high, but man was I disappointed. Half a tank of gas, $10 parking, $7 admission, and I spent $6 on a bobber caboose. Hardly any HO, mostly O scale and N. About the only thing of interest was the demonstration on geodesic foam rock molding although there was a great Z scale layout. Many prices I saw were higher than my LHS too. I guess not many of us were buying either because I heard many of the sellers complaining. Live and learn I guess.

Maybe if the sellers carried the stock that people want and didn't try to charge list plus10% they would get some sales!
