The official attendance for the Spencer event was over 4,000.
At $30 per person...looks like the museum made some good money. Hopefully that will help their budget out and keep things going...it's a good museum.
I just figured that there was close to $50 Million worth of almost brand new locomotives gathered around that turntable pit for the "Family Portrait".

That's one expensive show.

I applaud NS for following through on what must have been so many requests to do a heritage line up. It is quite impressive. Granted, it's only paint, but to the railfans out there, it's a great event to see them roll by. Hopefully, NS will keep the units in those colors for a while too.
...And NS "follows through" again, on their public website ...http://www.nscorp.com/nscportal/nscorp/C...comotives/ ...for our enjoyment. Thanks to NS for this compilation. Bob C.
That was very cool...That was the first I got to see of the CNJ unit. A special thanks should go out to the historical societies that helped with the research for the big 30th celebration. Also the app sounds good,,, I'll have to download that.
That was great!! Thanks for posting it. The "Heritage pin collection looks good too... Smile

Heard the Reading and LV units are westbound on an empty coal train on BNSF bound for Wyoming today. Train was planned out of Galesburg, Ill. at noon.
Caught the Central Georgia Heritage unit tonight(7-23-12) around 8pm on an East bound Ethanol train on the Conemaugh Line as it passed through Kiski junction,Pennsylvania.

Trust me they will be around. If you have a smartphone you can download the NS app and there is a section where they have a button that you click and it will bring up the heritage locomotives. You then click on whatever locomotive you want and it will locate it. Pretty cool thing they did so you kow where these heritage units are at all times. Union Pacific eat your heart out. NS has outdone you once again. You maybe 150 years old but they blew you out of the water with these locomotives and now their heritage locater on their app for the smartphones. Cheers
Great Catch Todd.
Hi Group
This is not new, but new to me. Good updates on the heritage units from all roads, and some information is very current. If you spot one I think you can post the location

The tracking is done with user-provided information. You'll only know its in the area or on the way if someone else saw it and entered the right information in the database in a timely manner.
