I just joined Big Blue and this is my first post. After many years of modeling in HO, I've decided to switch to N scale. I haven't started laying track yet, but I have determined to use Kato Unitrack. I'm also planning to get into DCC and have purchased a Bachmann E-Z Command control system. It appears to me that the Unitrack electrical connections assume that the operator will be using the Kato power pack since the feeder track wires end in connectors designed to fit into a socket in the power pack and the turnout control switches connect in series by snapping male connectors into female connectors also built into the power pack. I've figured out that I can connect the Kato feeder track to the E-Z Command power pack by stripping the connector off the feeder wire and twisting the bare wires together in the normal way. I plan to use a 12 v MRC power pack to operate the turnouts, but can't figure out how to connect it to the Kato turnout controls unless I solder the feeder wire onto the turnout controller's male connector device. Any ideas for a better way to do it? Thanks
