I'm looking to do some kitbashing on 3 intermountain TTX 60' flat cars. http://www.enginehouseservices.com/prod ... 9_zoom.jpg
I found this paint from Testors but is it the right color it looks more tan than yellow? http://www.testors.com/products/137384

My understanding is that TTX/Railbox uses different shades of yellow depending on the shop doing the work, and probably also the original builder (since a lot of their equipment has original paint 20, 30, 40 years later). "TTX yellow" is basically "equipment yellow" or "Caterpillar yellow", and I use Floquil TTX Yellow for construction models, too. Your best bet is to go looking for whatever shade of paint from any manufacturer is the best match for the model.
I see they have a Railbox Yellow, ill try my luck with that instead of the other one.
I have some container cars "Trailer Train" DTTX . . . they are more yellow than the color I see in the link, but not quite as yellow as "railbox Yellow",which I use for the "Cindys Harbor" locos, and rolling stock, although, the difference, is very small, and could be "gotten away with".
I just have to paint the pedestals to convert the flat car into a cantainer flat car. I think I can get away with a yellow that isnt exact but are close enough because the pedestals are small. I just wasn't sure about the original "TTX Yellow" color
