We had some time ago some links to media reports of the "unusual" circumstances how this little town south of LA is run. Looks like they are getting more trouble.

The problems in Vernon have made news ever since I moved out here in 1968. A very similar town in the area, Irwindale, which also has few voters but a big tax base, has had the same kind of history. The only problem with being a retired administrator of a place like that is you wind up spending your retirement in prison!

At the time we had that topic discussed last time here powerful officials of LA county and City of LA tried to "catch" Vernon. Vernon announced to use al possible law weapons available to defend it's independence. I did never read if a lawsuit is actually under way. Do you know the current status?
