Perhaps this is the place to post this pix of my East Central Indiana RR (HO). It does seem to be confusing as to post here or in HO Modeling.

That is a great picture. I like the stairs at the rear of the building in front. Were they a part of a kit, or did you scratch build them?

No. I used the part of the kit for the stairs. I don't really think that I want to take on stairs as a scratch-built item. :-)

Nor would I, but someone somewhere has had to do it...I came close once recently.

Roger,Your photo reminds me of town in Southern Ohio my dad and I drove through back in the early 60s .The similarity is close...IIRC the tracks was a B&O branchline..

And the town is modeled after a town in Southern Indiana that I spent a lot of time in in my youth. I am rather certain that it doesn't look like this today, but in the 50s... oh yeah.

The tracks were NYC.

And here is another view. If anyone can tell me where to get striping tape for the highway marks, I would appreciate it.

Auto body shops, auto parts shops and office supply stores - it's carried as pinstriping tape or chart tape in different widths and colors.

And while you are finding the stripeing tape if you run across photos that show early 1950 highway marking pass them along...I'm refering to the stripe paint as well as the signs. I have found a picture of the yellow stop signs with the reflective marbles in the wording and also the RR crossbucks made the same way.

Charlie, I think you need to specify which state you want the striping for. I don't think it was standardized until sometime after 1960. I have seen folks use yellow striping here for areas on the East Coast, but I remember that California had white striping until sometime after 1956 or 57. I lived in Southern California at the time when the color changed, and we moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 1958. It seems to my fading memory that the change occurred sometime just before we moved, but that is as close as I can narrow it down to.
