I accumulated a bunch of music videos from You Tube music in the past ....Doobie Brothers , Steely Dan , Toto , Dire Straits etc . and have noticed that most of them are virtually unlistenable .......hardly any volume , messages about " no longer available " or unavailable due to copywrite issues ( many Toto songs ) .....Argh ! I don't know why this is but there must be a better way .

Whay's the latest way to get music videos ?

In an iTunes world, more artists (and their representatives) are asserting their copyrights. So unless you have linked to a YouTube video that the uploaded has permission to show, you will run into this more and more.

iTunes is one legitimate way to get the content you want, but not all artists are represented and not all videos are free. You might try the CBC music site - but I am not sure they do videos. There are podcasts and video podcasts, but it can be like looking for a needle in a haystack if the tags are not good (I.e your search won't be helpful).

There are other services out there that are more legit than YouTube - google is your friend.

I noticed the same thing with videos of groups like Sha-Na-Na.

I figure it's YouTube's way of getting rid of listeners so they can claim to be dumping stuff because of "lack of viewer interest". Then these get transferred to ITunes so they can charge for them.
