Hey all,

I and a group of folks I know are (from all over the place) are looking for a good place to meet up while attending Grand Rails at the end of this month.

Is there anyone on this forum with good knowlege of the area and good places to eat / socialize (i.e. good food, can handle a group and isn't too loud!)?

Thanks!
Arnies on 28th street, Belt Line Bar -- Mexican, Brann's Steakhouse -- you'll have to look them up, as I am not sure if they moved again, Olive Garden on 28th, Carrabas -- there are the chains like Applebees, Steak n Shake, Big boys etc. For pizza the Village Inn, old Chicago, and Ocellos come to mind. If you log onto the city website, there should be a listing of restaurants / eateries as well as their locations. I know there are a number of places right downtown, but not sure how much you want to spend. There is a nice place in the Amway Grand as well. Hope this helps!

Thanks Chuck!

Yes, it does - having local recommendations is super. Chains are nice, but every town has those unique places that have to be tried!
The Beltline Bar and Restaurant(Mexican) is nice -- I've had a group of 12 in there before and it worked out well. It is on the corner of 28th Street and Division. Arnies is on 28th as well, just east of the Beltline, north side. Groups are OK, but it is basically one large dining room. The Beltline would probably be better for a group.

Thanks again, Chuck.
Brann's between 36th and 44th streets west side of Division, another Arnie's 54th & Clyde Park, the afore mentioned Beltline Bar.There are Outback Steakhouses both north (on Alpine) and south (28th St,)

The Arnie's I listed has great food but is rather noisey. Brann's is both a sports bar and a steakhouse but the sections are seperated by closed doors the food is terrific.
Thanks for the tips guys .....I'll be a passenger on this trip with 2 or 3 other guys , so I'll pass this info along so everyone can decide .

Thanks for the additional suggestions Jonathon, especially with the specific info about noise.
I don't recall the name of the place, but there is an awesome BBQ joint just outside of the main entrance to Wyoming Yard. I will see if I can find the name and address for you.
