I watch the same show my bar days are in the distant passed also. I saw two issues. They were trying to recruit new members (me) so when possible new member finally shows up ...run him off. Also trying to promote the hobby which in my opinion was a miserable failure. I mean who would want a hobby that takes several people to prove it is a real head ache?
I'm in an NTrak / oNeTrak club and it's great fun. No dues, no meetings. We set up for shows, run some operations, tear down, go out for dinner, then go home. Some politics, but I think that's been alleviated.
