I was going through our Christmas music CD's, and came across this one from Lionel. Eek I haven't a clue as to where it came from and I don't remember having it, but perhaps Santa snuck it in last year and we didn't pay attention. Misngth

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this, I guess "Vol I" implies that there are more than just this one. The copyright date is 1999 and contains 20 songs from many popular singers and groups. Perhaps it was given away free with the purchase of a Lionel set.... just guessing... :?

That's interesting. I thought maybe there'd be at least one railroad related song though...even if it was specially written for the album. Which I guess raises the question...are there any Christmas holiday songs that reference trains?
Ralph:
TM videos have custom songs on their "Toy Trains for Christmas" videos and released some of them on a CD.
There are some re-writes of traditional songs (The 12 trains of Christmas) and some new (All I really need is just One More Train).
Looks good and interesting. Normally I don't pay much attention to Lionel products but now I get a little curious because I recently had to research Lionel stuff for the parents of one of my son's friends. They were purchasing a Lionel train set for their son for Christmas -- since I'm such a train guy, they came to me for advice.

Just curious if these Lionel CDs might still be available, in case these parents would like to buy one for their son as well. I haven't breathed a word about this train set present to my son because he can't keep a secret!
This CD is very strange. When I Googled to see if I could find out anything, I got a few hits on "Lionel Richey" and one on.... you guessed, it, this thread. Eek
The UPC and trying to track down anything through Madacy is a total dead end.
Might as well get vol 2 <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009WFKC2?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links">http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009W ... ttom_links</a><!-- m -->

I dont doubt it was a gimmick that was sold right next to the train sets in department stores during x-mas time

Thanks, you did better than I did, I couldn't even find that and didn't think to look on Amazon. And wow, they want a bunch for a new one. :o The bigger mystery for me though is, where the heck did I get it??????? I know, there's lots of things I don't remember, but this is baffling since I don't even remember having it last year.

Ah yes, Secret Santa, that has to be it.... 2285_
You'd expect at least a few songs from singers with a Lionel connection or, at least, trains.
Well, it's in my player right now, and no there's nothing on it about trains. Now, I'm not saying there are subliminal messages on this, but for some reason, after hearing it, I want to dismantle my N scale layout and go buy all new O gauge, even though I don't have any room to run it. Eek Eek
