I'd like a window seat please.. Nice Job Don
Cheers Very nicely done!
Sweet work...remember when they were called Sambo's?
Really?! I didn't know that!
The ones around where I grew up turned into Denny's practically overnight. The original name had certain connotations with it that weren't easily overcome.
Thanks for the kind words everybody. I'm kind of proud of this because it really does look like a Denny's :o :o

Around here, the few Sambo's we had changed their names to something else, then eventually closed. It could be that in some areas, they cbanged to a Denny's. From what I know, they main chain started out as Denny's. Back in the 60's, we had but one in the Phoenix area, now I can't even guess how many are around here.
I think Denny's changed the menu over the years. They had a wide selection of food 30 years ago. That included lice cake and dessert. They were very close to a traditional restaurant. We felt they simplified the menu and got much closer to a fast food restaurant. Did you notice that change too?
Denny's has been sold at least 4 times that I know of.Each time the company gets new owners the menu changes.A few of the new owners were not even in the food industry. Nope
Yeah, I've noticed changes over the years, but we normally go there for breakfast and there are still some basics that haven't changed. I like their pancakes, and they've remained fairly consistent, but a few weeks ago, our Value Slams arrived and the waitress proclaimed that we had the "fluffiest" pancakes in Phoenix. I told her that I didn't like fluffy when it came to pancakes, I like them the same way I've been getting them at Denny's for years. One of our favorite sayings comes from the movie, "The Three Amegos", it's, "...when you change the formula, you pay the price"... 35 Frequently, change is not good, you can drive away old customers while trying to attract new ones.
Nice work, Don! Thumbsup

Thank you John, it just goes to show that digging behind the junk pile or dusty shelf can pay off. Icon_lol

Still, if we're talking eating, nothing beats one of those old 24-hour New Jersey diners for good food. Thumbsup Thumbsup
