Of course we're watching it. What is it? Icon_lol
Yes. Watching via Netflix. New season has just been posted, but I'm not there yet.

Andrew
Does it have anything to do w/ RRs?
And I thought you was asking about 2D Armored Cavalry Regiment since their motto is "Hell on wheels" silly me... 357
Andy it starts out being about a confederate looking for revenge against some yankees for killing his family at the end of the civil war ( in the interest of accuracy actually the war of succesion ) and morphs into the building of a RR to the west coast.
...a Confederate stage coach driver who is texting while driving ...... Icon_lol

I've been watching it steadily since it began. It has a lot to say about the cultural and social mores of the time.
Just watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix...watching the 3 season now. I like it.
T it had to be a yankee driver, the rebs couldn't afford cell phones after the war! Eek

To be really accurate...it was the war of secession...
Sorry about the spelling error.
Hell on Wheels depicts the lives and struggles around building the Union Pacific Railroad. While it's not a historical series, it does have some historic characters (like Thomas Durant) and provides a great feel for what it would have been like to build a railroad across a hostile frontier. I love the series. It plays on AMC, and Netflix picks it up.
As luck (or the lack thereof) would have it AMC has become too popular due to shows like Walking Dead/Hell on Wheels and Breaking Bad that the Dish and Cable companies are dropping it from the lower price packages. You can go to AMC's website and watch this seasons premire but all the following shows can't be watched unless you are subscribed to one of the Dish/Cable companies that have a contract with AMC (in which case you have already watched the show on TV 35 ) thereby losing thousands of viewers. Oh well ..............................
