It was a nice added bonus, I was happy to have a car or two at low volume 'running along', but the operating bit makes it even more fun. While a large layout might be a bit of work to set it all up, this thing comes into it's own on a small switching layout with only a few cars :-)

Just a question about the magnet; is it a specific magnet or magnetic wand? In otherwords something more to get lost or broken?
