I originally bashed this building (originally Geo. Roberts Printing ) I think about 15 years ago.I've been wanting to expand it for some time now and Don Day (Easy Days) just happened to have the very kit I needed for the expansion and it was for sale. Eek

Anyway here are 3 pics showing it now and with the addition setting in place.

You can tell by the spider web I have not been doing much to the big layout.

With the addition setting in place you can get a fair idea of the new foot print.By the way the addition is Variety Printing even though this has been W.Fowler Fine Furniture since I first opened the kit waaay back then.
Today's progress report.Building is now one piece and painted.Windows and door on the schedule for tomorrow.

Nice work. Seems to be occupied by a spider? Cheers

I've been revisiting some old projects, too. It's fun
I've been wanting to do this for quite sometime but the cash to buy the Variety Printing kit just wasn't there. Then Don (Easydays) put this one up for sa;le at a great price. Eek So now the project is proceeding at a fairly rapid pace .

Only problem is now I need to get back to the scenery part of this project as soon as the building is done. Wallbang ( < kidding  )
Today's progress report.Tomorrow's planned project is to remove the shipping doors ,and start to build a floor in the building and detail a shipping department.

Removed the shipping dock doors today and built a floor for the shipping department.Next project (at least for right now) will be a sidewalk in front of the offices.Right now I am trying to decide if I want the sidewalk right up tight to the building or do I want to put some grass between the two.Anyway here is today's progress pic.

Wow, does that blend in or what????? Nice, Variety Printing is a background kit, but I'll bet that they never thought about using it like this... Thumbsup Thumbsup

I'm glad I had a small part in this. I almost used it as part of the kitbash challenge this time, but glad I didn't since my entire layout (minus the structures) is in the city landfill right now....
Thumbsup Thumbsup Thumbsup
That's perfect!!! Thumbsup
Thanks guys.\,more progress pics to follow.
Next phase = parking lots for office and employees.First up is the office parking lot.Employee lot will be to the right of the building and I will finally have something to fill that area.

Project was progressing very nicely.I got started on some scenery ,but then I hit a road block.I have no idea how I want to do the truck dock area. Wallbang

Some will say you need to have lots of room so the trucks can turn around and back up to the door. After what I witnessed while I was working in NJ a few weeks ago, I say - hogwash! This one company I passed, from the edge of the doc to the edge of the pavement, was barely enough room for the trailer and tractor, there was maybe another car length plus a travel lane, because people parked cars directly opposite the dock space. As such, I was held up one day as a truck blocked the entire street trying to get angled enough to back straight in to the lot and then make the 90 degree turn to put the trailer up against the dock. Now, you never know if this was a rookie driver or not, but the moves were NOT easy and it took a significant amount of time. I'm going to assume the guy had at least some experience, I doubt a rookie could have gotten it in there. Of course this is an exception rather than the rule, but - there's a prototype for everything. If I get there again I will try to remember to snap a few pictures. There's no parking along that street so I can't exactly stop and get out and take pictures.
