Well I finally done it my first rebuild, doc will know this loco. I bought an set of RS11's on here a while back one powered and one not. I took the dummy and completely tore what was inside and rebuilt it with a new motor and trucks from an ft locomotive. 604 is now a powered locomotive known to the HBL as a RS11-2.
Any chance of a picture, Harry?

The 604, originally a powered locomotive, was an example of the only plastic RS-11s available at that time, from LifeLike. Unfortunately, they were poor runners, with the motor mounted on one truck and powering that truck only. I removed the motors and re-did the handrails and a few other details. When Atlas released their smooth-running version of the same loco, I bought two, and paired them each with one of the dummies. I had thought about re-powering them, but back-dated my layout before getting around to it, and they were sold as powered/dummy sets.

Here's the 604 leading a train through Lowbanks:

Here sets RS11-2 just out side of the shop setting on the lead track.
Very neatly-done, Harry. Thumbsup Thumbsup
At one time, it was very common on some roads to see trucks from traded-in Alcos under newer EMD products, so I suppose turnabout is fair play.
It's good to see the old girl back in service and even more useful than before. Big Grin

Thanks for the kind words and ill admit it took one heck of a push to do this as ive never done it before. But as said you never know until you try it and I wasn't as bad as I thought it to be. Now I set and look at the few locos I have setting around ither broke or burnt out 24
