A photo background doesn't have to be "busy" with a lot of detail to compete with the foreground. It can be simple like some distant mountains (or buildings) like in this picture. I misted the photos with dul-cote to give them a hazy off in the distance look.
Mike,Unlike rolling hills it's harder to blend in a industrial scene where everything looks like it belongs.You just need to use industry photos that looks like they belong with the modeled industries.
