Doctorwayne was on the MR forum and found a post about Jeffery. Here's what his sister said:

Quote:"As you know Jeff has been in nursing care sense November. Just before thanksgiving Jeff had a stroke it affected his right side. Lost of speech, can only move his left arm. The doctor say there may be no improvement. We were also told his body is trying to shutdown. He know where he is at, he knows his family."

I can't tell you anymore than this, so if anyone has more updated info, let us know please.
Thank you for the update. My best wishes.
Thanks for the update Don. He is in my prayers. I miss his daily postings. He is a fighter, I hope he can recover. I lost a railfan friend to diabetes 15 years ago. He was a fighter too, but just could not control it.

Ahhhhh...Jeff has been battling health challenges for a long time. This one seems particularly hard. I wish him well.
Wow... How horrrible... I too, wish him well... Hopefully he can overcome this...
Oh man. That is sad news. I have enjoyed following Jeff on this forum and feel like I have gotten to know him a little. I will definitely keep him in my prayers.

Don - thanks for the update - my thoughts are with him! Best, Jack
Not a clue as to who Jeff is (other than a member here) but I wish him the very best and hope he fully recovers.
He goes by "Running Bear" and posts frequently in the Hobo campfire thread.
We can thank Wayne for finding this in the first place, I might have missed this entirely if he didn't let me know.

I'm sorry to have had to post this, we've all been concerned about Jeff. A stroke is not something one gets over in a few weeks, or even a few years. I have a friend that waited too long to get to the ER, and so he now walks very slowly, has difficulty reading and can't drive, and it's been almost three years since his stroke. He was my shooting buddy, we'd go out a couple of times a month until this. They say that you need to get to medical attention within three hours of the first symptoms, I'm sure Jeff had competent medical help close by, so he may stand a better chance at a recovery, but still, it won't be easy.

Our prayers are with him and his family.
Oh no. Such sad news.
I pray that his fighting spirit will give him strength to help him through.
Whatever it is that lies ahead our thoughts and prayers are with him.

Jack and family

Sorry, I should have added his username here, Running Bear. Jeff has had a severe case of diabetes and recently lost one leg to the disease. He went back in the hospital a few weeks ago an had his other leg removed and has been in rehabilitation since then. As Ralph says, he has been posting in the Hobo Camp thread for as long as we have had it. Some people on other forums were quick to jump on Jeff for his modeling style, but they don't consider Jeff's physical limitations in their assessment. Jeff is here because most of our members accept him for who he is, the few that don't have moved on.
It's good to hear from you too Jack. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Charlie, Mary and the furkids.
Very sad to hear this. He's fought through so much, I hope he has at least one more fight in him.
