There be coal in dem their hills..... ok had to do that 35 Any how in the appalachain area other than conrail being able to tap the mines in that region what other roads of the 90's would have been seen in the area?
If you're speaking of the 1890s, I'd guess there to be a long list, but for the 1990s, in addition to Conrail, other big players would be CSX and Norfolk Southern. There may be others, too, and perhaps someone more familiar with the area can add some information.

yep the good ole 1990's
Blue Mountain Reading and Northern is one that was just starting up around then. She runs on former RDG, CNJ, & LV trackage acquired from Conrail, moving coal from a lot of the old anthracite towns in eastern PA.
