Very well done Deano Applause ---great additions to your impressive layout  Worship
Thank you so much for the great comments guys Icon_e_biggrin

I had a vacation day today, so I ended up working on the layout a bit more. I added 3 more trees, some bushes/shrubs, ballasted two swiches, fixed my phone/power lines and actually got a chance to run some trains for a bit, a good day!  Icon_e_biggrin

Still NOT finished with this area, but real close, then back on to the hill to try and finish that up, till then, here's some current progress pics...

Sweet! Great way to spend a vacation day.
Hi Deano---no need for a "tropical vacation" when you have paradise right in your own home  Cheers.
Thank you so much, Tom & Ed Icon_e_biggrin

Well, I hate to bore you folks with more shots of the wooded side of the layout Icon_redface , but I took these this week, thought I would post them here Misngth .

NOW KEEP IN MIND, my layout is based in early June(2006) , why June, I love early June here, lots of fresh green grass and foliage, most not yet tarnished by the heat and sun yet, so nice. This is just the base mind you, it will look a bit different then the wooded area I had done, when this section is finished, but thats coming in my next post  Misngth .
Well, today was the last day of my vacation, so I am getting around to post some progress I had made during this time,. Sadly I DID NOT have the time to finish this area, but I did make some good progress on it...

You can see I had to make a repair to the ballast in the first pic, thats why that area looks...not so good Icon_redface .

I still have to paint some rails, add a couple more trees and brush, and I have a old beard trimmer I have been using to to shave spots of the grass down, I am thinking about shaving in between the mainlines and adding a bit more dirt to it.
I'll post more as I progress more Icon_e_biggrin .
Looks good Deano! I like difference between the mainline well cared for ballast and the uncared for sidings.
Thank you, Tom! Icon_e_biggrin

NO, NO real update on the layout as of yet Misngth  , but Bruce mentioned a new engine coming out, it got me to thinking about some things. I have a pretty "robust" engine collection, and have amassed a good collection of rolling stock. Before my Dad had passed, he had a few layouts, some I was around to help build and enjoy with him. My Dad always built layouts based on the 40's-60's so I always bought my own engines to run on his layouts that were correct for the time period his layout at the time was built for, hence, I have A LOT of older stuff.

My layouts have always been based around the 70's to about 2006, my current layout is about 2006.
Around 2006, in my eyes, it was a GREAT time to be in Wisconsin, the UP was here and with them came many engines from far away roads, neat engines too, like Tunnel motors showed up HERE IN WISCONSIN. There was a bunch of patched and unpatched units here from many roads. UP AC6000's, SD90Macs and the first SD70Ace's would show up from time to time out of Chicago. The Wisconsin & Southern was doing well here at that time, buying engines from other roads and running them before painting them. You could see quite a few CNW engines still, even a couple Milwaukee Roads from time to time, though they were disappearing fast. The Wisconsin Central was already bought out by the CP, but you could still see many WC engines and a few GBW engines around. You could see a SOO every now and then, and IC&E ran here in Southern Wisconsin, YES friends, it truly was a GREAT time to be in Wisconsin as far as Rail Roading goes in 2006.

I REALLY DONT NEED ANY MORE ENGINES, but I did but another CNW dash9 on EBAY today, not going to weather it or patch it. I would like two more engines though, a UP GP15, they do a lot of switching up here, would like one. I also would like a Milwaukee road SD40-2, I could run it unpatched with either my WSOR or WC engines, would be neat.

Well, I have rambled enough Icon_lol  , I leave you with a pic I posted in the WPF thread today, I liked it so thought I would put it here too. A pair of Dash 9's, FUN FACT, very first Dash 9 I had ever seen was in Florida, was living there at the time, it was an FEC Icon_e_biggrin

Nice shot Deano.

I sympathize with you about the locomotives. Like you I don't need any more but there a few special cases such as the Proto 2000 PRR PA1 and PB1 in Tuscan that I have been after for a few years. I got a set off eBay about 2 weeks ago for a price I could not turn down. Only the A-unit is powered. There are a couple of more that I am looking for if they ever show up.
