Wow! Ed, those VIA trains move so fast the paint is wearing off the nose.
Great shots. Looks like you had a good time.

I'd guess the worn paint may have been redistributed on a few trespassers, given the lack of respect for railroad property shown by some residents.
That looks like an interesting arrangement of horns on the roof, with five up front and another five sitting a little further back and snuggled down into the roof.

While the majority of Canadians are celebrating Canada's 148th birthday with a barbeque and a few cold pops it's business as usual down at Kinnear Yard

A barbecue under the rain here! Would have been better in a locomotive cab! ;-)

Wow Ed, looks like I need to arrange another trip..Great new additions to your photo roster.

Thanks Charlie---it would be great to have you back in my hometown---we could make another trip to Salford to catch the Ontario Southland Railway's F-units in action

Oh!!! That one is a very special locomotive to me. I remember when this unit roamed in my hometown back in the mid-90s. It was truly magnificent when it was freshly painted in the old CNR scheme. It was my very first attempt at repainting and detailing an engine when I was in high school. I remember using a Bachmann F9 that I still have. Stripping painted by hand with paint as thick as putty!

Hi Matt---those CNR FP9 diesels are also one of my favourites, especially in the classic green/yellow/black passenger livery. You are probably aware that Rapido Models has these locomotives in all versions from the original to latest paint schemes---I have #6538 in the original livery on my roster.Fortunately some of these locomotives have been preserved including a couple of units on the Ontario Southland Railway which is located just west of my hometown in Salford Ontario---if you google "ONTARIO SOUTHLAND RAILWAY" you can access their complete roster of locomotives.I noticed recently that the OSR is repainting one of their FP9'S into their very attractive paint scheme, similiar to the classic TH&B maroon and cream---I'm sure it will look great but a disappointment to all the CNR "nutbars"

Well, that locomotive was last painted in 1995 when it was pulling the Tortillard. I would be nice to have that touristic train on the layotu with the mountains and St. Lawrence river, but I already can tell the price would be prohibitive!!! 2 locos + about 6-8 cars...
At least, they are preserved, and this is what counts.
