I had gotten a set of decals I have longed for for over 3 years now and no one can seem to make them so heres my question. Is there a soft ware you can purchase and use to duplicate these decals?
Have been told there's no computer program that lets you do it on your home computer & printer. Look in a MR magazine &/or the internet for companies that can do them for you.
The problem isn't lack of computer or software, it's the ability to print in white. There was a printer called "ALPS" that used a kind of wax, so could lay down opaque white.

But unless you're going to do a lot ( A LOT!) of your own, it's probably cheaper to have them made. More so if you can do the art yourself.

For white lettering, I use a white decal and use the color of the model as the background color. One reason why I want to make my engines black is that it's easier to match decals with the engine/freight car. If you want to model a patch job, even easier.
Past people ive tried ither don't do ho scale, cant crate that decal, want me to create the art work " cant draw for beans" or want me to order mass quantity orders. All tho I did recall a long time ago testors had a decal program. Any how any one have an idea for someone that may be able to reproduce these decals?
Can you put up a picture of the decals? Is it just road names?

the nose decals and the long yellow decal are what im after and they will vary in art due to an F3 FT and NW2 locos
Is the "long yellow decal" the one that wraps around the nose, or the thin one on the side only? I would think that either of those could be done with paint. Then all you'd have to find is the red O&W logo. I can't imagine that it is too hard to find, and/or reproduce.

Actually, just found this which might help ->http://www.oldandwearycarshop.com/avpaint.html

Painting I have tried and well.... I'll leave it at that lol. The wider band and orange bib is what I need. O&W car shop does not have nor plan to make any decals like that. I know micro scale makes the set that includes small pin stripe and numbers along with hearalds.
One thing I have over looked that a car modeler told me about decal paper and an ink jet printer or laser printer. I have an ink jet printer and going to try that rout. Cant believe I over looked that option Wallbang Wallbang Wallbang
If you're planning to copy the decal set which you have, I doubt that there'll be enough contrast between the stripe's colours and the background paper to give satisfactory results.
My suggestion would be to get the Microscale set which you mentioned (#87-44), but also to investigate their plain coloured decal sheets. These are solid single colour sheets, out of which you could cut the bib and wider striping. You'd need only the yellow and orange ones, and I'd guess that they'd have colours close to or the same as the O&W set which they offer. You'd probably have enough material to do more than a single locomotive, too.
