No one here has ever missed a NASCAR announcement, but you all missed Mother's Day. Icon_lol
That's because we were spending it with our wives and kids and not sitting at the computer. Icon_lol

Tell me, what did you do on Mothers Day? Apparently, you weren't here either to let us know since we didn't hear from you as well. If you had looked around, there were a number of people that mentioned Mothers Day in the Hobo Camp thread, something that you apparently missed by not looking around. We don't always have to start a separate thread for occasions like this or other holidays, nor do we have to always mention it since we normally do celebrate it in our own way.....
I spent the day with my wife and her mother, called my mother, and then worked on some model railroad projects in the evening. Some of us come to special interest forums as a respite from life in general. When I come here I am hyperfocused on model railroading because I deal with all the other stuff out there in the real world.
I too was with family. My mother died last August at the age of 94, I remember her and cherish the 72 years we had together. I don't need to share this with my friends on the gauge. I spent the afternoon with 5 ladies that are all mothers and related to me, wife, grandaughters and daughter in law.
I frankly am very tired of symbolism and awareness. I don't need a special day to think of my mother. I can't remember a single day in my life that I haven't thought of her.
