It seems like a lot of railroads are ordering new or rebuilt low emissions locomotives these days. I'm curious to know, with the exception of the Atlas gensets, are there other variations of low emissions options out there either resin kits or 3d printed shells that could fit on existing frames? It seems if I want to model the present day these should be considered, and I kind of like how ugly they are. Here's a few examples.

If you are any good with 3D modelling software, you could draw out what you wanted and send it to a company like Shapeways and they can make it for you.

Otherwise, there are a *few*, but models seem to be few and far between. I would watch some of the companies like ExactRail for something like what you are wanting, or find a close enough model and kitbash it to shape.
I'm thinking of modifying a cf7, it looks similar to the mp14b
You might be able to kitbash a geep in to one of those, too.
check out the shapeways website.

hope this helps.
Thanks for the link!
A GP20D shell is on Shapeways too

The CIT engines are leased to a verity of locations in the US. A little bit phantasy justifies a CIT engine almost everywhere (on our contemporary layouts)
