Good morning all, we usually don't talk about the heat index here, humidity is usually so low that it's the same as the actual temp. We do have a break though, temps below 110 for the next week or so. I still need to change weather apps, the one I'm using is usually far off the actual, that includes past historical data. Still debating about getting the van washed. If I use the MS Win 10 app, I'm good for a week, if I listen to others, we have a good chance of rain this weekend.

I should have some time today to work on my layout. Wiring the control panel should take some time, and I really won't need it for a while, just that it's something that I can do sitting down, and that's a good thing.... 2285_
nice morning here low 80's heading to they say to 107 with 14 % humidity , so no heat index . woke up this morning to the wife screaming no , no   bolted out of bed  to find one of the cats starting to eat a dove she had caught making a feather mess on  floor , that's what wife was screaming about the feather mess not the dead bird . evicted cat and her kill .
Good morning everyone, no so hot here after hearing how a lot of the rest of the country is getting. Our actual temps are in the low 100's right now with low humidity (remember, it's a dry heat), while if you add in humidity, the heat index elsewhere is a bit higher than that. We're use to it, a lot of folks back east aren't.

Jim, we used to have a cat (or two), do that in our backyard. No, we never owned a cat, just that someone's somehow liked our backyard. When we lived in Wickenburg, cats were never a problem, too many coyotes around.

Got another large wildfire started just south of Prescott. One small town of Pine Flats has been evacuated. The town of Dewey, where Ray M. lives is just a bit to the north of the fire. He's probably getting a lot of smoke right now as the fire grows to the north. The other big fire just east of us is now contained and has been burning for well over a month. It's still not out, just contained.
Hot for us. 83 now going to 94, tomorrow 97. 100 is rare but it does happen. Heat index will top a 100.
I did see a few things in the new Lionel catalog excluding their very expensive door stops.

Greetings, gang.

It's a balmy 81 degrees with a soggy 16% humidity in Las Vegas this morning.

It has been a spectacular trip so far. First stop was Monday with my niece and her family at Bailey Yard. It has to be seen to be believed. Very typical of the UP though. Bigger is better. Coming down the west side of the Rockies I was getting over 40 mpg according to my dashboard. Glenwood Canyon is also pretty spectacular but the pull offs the recommend for "scenic views" is somewhat lame. One Wed morning I toured the Colorado National Monument. Why there isn't a steady stream of traffic through there is beyond me. I was chatting with the (cute young) Park Ranger who said they were pretty much hidden in plain sight. Only 10 minutes from downtown Grand Junction. Yesterday morning I went through the Valley of Fire near Overton, NV. Very impressive. In the afternoon I toured Hoover Dam. Very crowded but worth the trip. This morning I'm headed to downtown Las Vegas to see their historic district. Then it's off to LA for the weekend.

Frank - thank your for thinking of me.

Don - I'll wave and maybe even holler to you.

All stay safe (and cool).

Tom (having the time of my life!)
another summer day here , still low humidity .
tom you missed some of the best spots in Colorado by staying on the interstate like trappers lake or the black canyon of the Gunnison , many other spots off the main roads.
jim
Good morning, like Jim says, another summer day here in Paradise. It only got up to 109 yesterday, today should be cooler, somewhere between 105 and 108 (depending on who's data you're looking at). Rain is now pushed out to Monday, maybe for a whole week, maybe not, again, depending on who's forecast you're looking at.

Not much else going on here, there usually isn't when it's this hot out.... Big decision to make, do I run the van through the car wash or not? That's hard with all this talk about rain. During this time of year, it usually doesn't rain, it muds... yeah, the rain and blowing dust just coats everything in mud spots and the lines at the car wash are usually a block or two long the next day....

Jim, I hope all went well at your VA visit.

Frank, hope you're enjoying your new Caddy, you couldn't have made a better choice.
Heat warning today.  99 degrees.  No rain to speak of.  Farmer irrigating tobacco and my back garden.
Morning.  Hot, dry and humid.  Heat advisory again.  They say dropping into the 80's Tuesday.  Good chance of rain then.

Back garden looks good this AM.  Three times farmer moved irrigation head, it hit the back garden.  Guess that was my pay for letting him pump the pond.  He is leaving rig at pond incase it doesn't rain Tuesday.  Then irrigate again Wednesday.

Hope all have a great week ahead.
Evening heat storms broke the 97 degree temp we had. High of 83 today
Nothing on my menu for today.

Good day, just about noon here. A lazy day, just kicking back, staying in most of the day. Temps according to Windows 10 weather app should be 105, but 109 according to everyone else. I tried to download a different weather app, had to go to the MS store, log in only to find that several popular weather apps are "not available at this time"........... stuck with the inaccurate MS app for now. I guess I could bookmark one of the weather site links, but I just wonder why the MS store won't let me download a competing app. Waiting
Hi all, another hot one here in Ohio too. Still 92 outside. I have a little mowing to do this evening but I may get rained out. I am waiting for a 10 degree drop in the temp.
I always use the national weather site, No hype and they are pretty accurate. Radar for Phoenix is here
https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar_li...1&loop=yes

and the forecast is here. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph...TTSfuhKiUk
You don't have to look at what they are saying, Thunderstorms for you tomorrow night and hot hot hot.  Nope

Charlie
Thanks Charlie, that should be accurate, closer than a lot of sites.

If you don't think sites know a lot about you, think again. I typed just "weather" in Google, and got a list of sites that had the weather report for "Surprise, AZ", but most disturbing, that Google page also showed the weather report for the subdivision where I live in Surprise. But wait, the Weather Channel knows my zip code and just a few days ago, I deleted all my tracking history (Avast says I had around 5,000 trackers). Now that's getting a bit scary. Eek
Hot and humid.  Relief on the way.  Cooler and rain.  Have a good one.
88 here still not too bad. headed to the Tucson VA this morning to have a checkup on my bipap machine , and  lunch.
