Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 71 at the moment with a predicted high in the mid 80s. Probably my last really warm day until next year. Got a half inch of rain from yesterdays storms. More storms predicted for tonight through Wednesday with anywhere from 3-6 inches by the time it's all over.

Quiet day yesterday and today looks to be the same. House taxes due today. Any other activities will be out doors to enjoy the warm weather while it lasts.

All stay safe.

Tom

PS Still can't get into the MR forums
Morning.  Cloudy but no rain.  May water again.  Busy busy day.  Out the door.  Have a great week.
Good afternoon, spent a few hours target shooting out in the desert. Just right, a slight wind, temps in the low 80's and hardly any flies bothering us. Had a nice breakfast at a truck stop off I-10 near where we shoot. Just one problem, I think the few gusts of wind were enough to throw us off our targets, either that, or because it's been a few months since we shot, there were still a lot of bottles standing when we were getting ready to clean up. Still, just like modeling or running trains, you can't have a bad day if you're doing what you enjoy doing... 2285_
Morning.  Headed east.  Painting deer stand and stairs to help camp them.  Really don't think the deer care.

Have a good one.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and the temperature is dropping. 64 when I got up. down a degree now and supposed to drop to 50 by late this afternoon. Missed the rain last night. Supposed to get maybe a couple inches today.

Quiet day yesterday. Talked to an insurance agent about homeowners insurance but they won't insure the house due to knob and tube wiring. Could get really expensive to get new insurance if I have to re-wire the house. Nothing on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all. Pretty tired from target shooting yesterday. Just can't jump around like I used to. I still get things done that some people half my age wouldn't tackle, it just takes me a lot longer and hurts a lot more.

Temps look like they'll be in the low to mid 90's for at least another week. That means that the A/C will still be on. Some years we go right from "cool" to "heat", this will probably be one of them. I'd like at least a few weeks where we don't have either on, this should be that time.

Tom, sounds like you're in a fairly old house, still, there's got to be someone that will insure you without having to replace all the wiring. Some may deem it a fire hazard, but it's lasted all these years without problems so that should count for something...
Hello Blue
We have sun and 80s today. But it's a one day affair. Tomorrow's high is in the 60s.
I had a foot doctor appointment early this morning, got that done then stopped at Rite-Aide for a flu shot.
We have had our 1st fall club meet and the next one will be Oct.12.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and cool this morning. 51 now headed for the mid 50s with a chance of showers. Got an inch and a quarter from yesterday's rain.

Quiet day yesterday. Big project for the day was watering the house plants. This morning I'm off to see daughter's new house. After the 50¢ tour I'm going to Des Moines. Time for a Harbor Freight run and miscellaneous other shopping.

Don - the house is 100+ years old. City code says knob and tube is still legal as long as it's not tapped in to excessively. Just have to see what happens.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, a chilly one here, at least by our standards. We're talking temps in the low 60's, time to crank up the car heater. Worry not for us, we'll be back up to around 90 later today, and the upper 90's through this week and next.

Yeah Tom, it should be legal since it was up to code when the house was built. Until you start making major changes to the house that require permits. Around here, it's OK for a homeowner to do wiring and plumbing on their own houses without getting a contractor. I've done both in the past, but I still had to get it inspected because of the extent of the work.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and cool this morning but it looks like the rain is over for a couple of days. Had over 2 inches this week. 47 now headed for the mid 50s again. Low in the 30s tomorrow morning. Frank - I'm sending some of this cold weather your way as and early Halloween trick, no treat needed.

Some shocking news around here last night. A local pastor was stabbed to death while trying to help a young woman who was being assaulted. Several witnesses were able to identify the culprit and he is behind bars. The pastor is the one who performed the service at my wife's funeral. In other news I've been working with one of my daughters and one of my granddaughters. They need to provide impact statements concerning the loss of my mother-in-law. She passed away after tripping on a curb outside a florist shop. Lawyers got involved and its gotten really ugly.

All stay safe.

Tom
Hello Blue
Just checking in with the local weather report.

Morning.  Had to get Garden Club agenda out.  I'm new chair.  [Wifey and some members wanted to get old chair out as she was causing member grief]  Took a while to create membership email group.  Now can get going for the day.  98 record high yesterday.  Same for today.  We do NOT have 90's in Oct.  No rain in sight.  Watering.

Have a good one.
Good morning everyone, Frank, my heart would go out to you with such outrageous temp, but WE do have those kind of temps this time of the year and I though we should share them with you. To be sure, today is suppose to be around 95 and we'll be pushing 100 on Monday. I was suppose to rain today, but they took that out of the forecast a few days ago and replaced it with heat. Nothing but 90+ through next week. Oh, early mornings are beautiful, high 60's to low 70's.

Remember folks, we're running another auction right now. A Doctorwayne anniversary special in HO. All proceeds go to supporting this forum, and I'll be honest with you, each year, like everything else, the cost goes up and it's anyone's guess what it'll be this time. You have a chance to help support Big Blue and get something really nice in return.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 42 this morning with a predicted high in the mid 50s again.

Quiet day yesterday. Nothing planned for today.

All stay safe.

Good morning, facing another hot weekend, we are.... This time of the year is frustrating for us, nice cool mornings, heating up with higher humidity as the day goes on. The A/C is set where it usually is all summer, yet it's too cold in the morning and night, and too uncomfortable during the day. Let's get down to the 70's and 80's so we can be happy again.

Well, us old folk usually find something to complain about, and if we can't, the weather is always a good target.... Misngth
