Morning.  62 and sunny.  County Commissioners' and Mayor's Assoc.  Wifey working Master Gardeners' booth at the State Fair.

Prayers for the Texicans in the storms.  TV says Memphis is under the gun.  Hope the storms play out getting over our mountains tomorrow.

Have a good one.
Train buddy, Roy from other forums had some damage in Dallas.  Prayers.
Neighbors had a lot more.
Good morning all, saw stuff on the news about that Frank, lots of damage. It's never a good thing when they hit. I wish them all the best.

Things around here are normal, lows in the 50-60's, highs in the 80's. The A/C should stay off most of the day. To me, that's the first sign of fall  when the A/C can be turned off and the furnace off as well...
Hello Blue
We have some rain tonight here in lower Michigan. Temp is around 60.
A train and forum friend was attack by yesterday's Texas tornado. Fortunately they are ok but in the damage area. His house is still there but will need repairs.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy, cool, and breezy in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Right now it's 41 with 20 mph winds gusting to 30. Had 40 mph winds overnight and more predicted for today. High is supposed to be in the mid 50s.

Got home late yesterday afternoon thoroughly whupped. After the train show it took us 5 hours Sunday evening to tear down and clean up. Successful show though. Had over 300 door prize tickets given out. Had my eye on a couple of engines but they sold on Saturday. Saved myself a couple hundred - or so I thought. Went back to buddies house Saturday evening and ordered a $200 engine on line.

During clean up Sunday evening my tennis shoes died. The soles came loos from the uppers. Not surprising as they were 17 years old. The sad part is that they were special Nebraska Husker shoes that my wife had bought for me and were only worn on special occasions.

Today is going to be a day of rest with maybe some laundry but not much else.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning all.  Cloudy and rain on the way.  Not suppose to be bad like Texas.  Wifey at State Fair for Master Gardeners thingy.

Groomer due at 12:30.  Much needed for the dogs.

Resting up.

Tom, get a clear plastic shoe box and put them up for "keep sake".

Have a good one.
Guess who woke up w-a-y too early this morning, gang!

It's 5 now and I've been up for an hour. Too much sleep the night before. 32 and clear at the moment. High for today is supposed to be in the low 50s but no wind to speak of. Yesterday we had winds over 35 mph. There's an 80% chance of rain around lunch time.

Very quiet day yesterday. I did a load of jeans since I was down to my last pair. This morning I'm headed to Walmart for some needed items. This afternoon I'll either change oil on the car or start cleaning up leaves. Both chores need to be done.

Frank - excellent idea on the shoe box. I'll look for one at Walmart today. I plan to put a note in the box so the kids will know the meaning. They'll probably just pitch them after I'm gone.

All stay safe.

Tom
Hello Blue
Just checkin in.
Sun and 50s today. Got most of the outside stuff ready for winter.
Train shows and club meets have begun.
S.J.
Good morning, more "average" temps, but it still got to 90 yesterday. Had the A/C on for a while in the afternoon. Making some slow progress on the layout, not enough to show, but progress nonetheless.
Afternoon.  Cooler.  Maybe frost tonight.  Our garden club treasurer is in Iowa.  Not from there.  Just told me yesterday at bank that her sister and her were flying there last night.  Sioux Falls?????

Haircut done. Now off to the Vet with Wiley.

There is now an EXTRA THICK Ego. Its better than the regular ones. Plenty of butter and maple syrupple on top.

Infant Mortality Review Board at 5:30 at Human Services building.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

37 and cloudy at the moment with the sun making an appearance later this morning. High is supposed to be in the upper 40s.

I did get a little over a quarter inch of rain yesterday so that eliminated the outside chores. I'll work on those today. Yesterday afternoon I got my new phone set up. Broke the screen on the old one over the weekend. Samsung has a nifty utility that allowed me to transfer all my data from the old Samsung. Only took about 5 minutes and worked slick.

Frank - Sioux Falls (population 182,000) is in South Dakota. There is a Sioux City (population 82,000) in Iowa. Also a small (population 7000) town named Sioux Center in Iowa.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone as the week winds down. Almost at another weekend and a few days away from Halloween.

Tom, I had to get a new phone about a year ago. We were doing laundry and I heard this "clunk, clunk, clunk" coming from the washer. When I opened to door, my phone was now bright and clean as new, Eek just that, for some reason, it never ever came back on. Nope No biggie, I was able to take out the memory card and move it to my new one. I think I just had to recreate my contact list and my provider was able to transfer the number. Not that it matter that much since I only have it in case of emergency and seldom make calls. I've amassed some 2000 minutes of calling time that I can use if I could find someone to talk to that long. Icon_e_biggrin Nope, I'm a landline kind of guy...
Don - I'm with you on the land line. The only reason I have a cell phone is for travel. Only my family and a very limited number of friends have my cell phone number. I did give the number to my credit card company in case they should call with a problem while I'm traveling. Yeah, I realize once they get the number everyone else in the world now has it but I can't control that. I just don't answer if the person calling is not in my contacts. On the other hand I get very few junk calls. I got one yesterday, one on Oct. 10th and another back in early September so it's not really a problem.
Home from Human Services Board meeting.  Was there by 7 this morning.  Need to change that time.  May happen.

Tom, she said Iowa.  Why??  She is from NY and lived mostly in LA valley until two years ago.

Hope all activities are over except Fall Festival in front of house Sat.  Next week is suppose [suppose] to be clear for me to do what I want.

Have a good one.
Land line in the house. Cell phone when we go out. I'll keep the land line as long as possible.
