Morning.  29 when I got up at 7.  38 now.  Finally had a freeze.  Off to the hunt.  Enjoy the day.
Greetings, gang.

34 and sunshine outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the upper 40s. Bottom falls out of the thermometer after that. By Tuesday morning its predicted to be 6. The weather is about a month early according to the calendar.

Quiet day yesterday. Last night I went to dinner with some friends. Left a little after 5 and didn't get home until after 8:30. Guess we had a lot to catch up on. Today is outdoor work - leaves, winter/summer toy switch, change oil on the snow blower, lube the garage door, and whatever else I can think of before the weather turns cold.

All stay safe.

Tom
well another week has slipped by with a small amount of progress. tom what is this snow stuff , I seem to have a vague memory of it.
We had the first night with temperatures below the freezing point and the first mass collision on the autobahn due to icy road condition. The winter has started.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 32 and that's as warm as it's going to get. Falling to 29 by this afternoon. About an inch of snow predicted for tonight.

Got the leaves cleaned up and hauled away yesterday. Also had a nice chat with a couple of neighbors. Got the garage lubed and said the heck with the rest of the chores. The National Weather Service, in its infinite wisdom, has decreed that after a couple of cold days (like most of the week) the temperatures will rise by next weekend. I'll take care of the rest of my list then. Absolutely nothing on the agenda for today other than multiple trips to the kitchen for food.

Jim - If you like I can send you a box of snow as a refresher course. Or, to get a fully immersive experience (which seems to be a somewhat popular buzz word), you're welcome to come visit in about another month.

All stay safe.

Tom
Back from Church.  64 degrees as warmed up fast.  Present from Tom middle of the week.  Cold and possible COLD rain.

Saw 3 and 4 pointer bucks.  No does which is strange.  Fred made me mad.  Shot an 8 Friday afternoon.  Very questionable shot.  Should not have taken.  Said he couldn't find blood on Friday.  Found it yesterday morning later.  Jumped wounded deer.  Due to the thickness, walked out.  I had arrived.  Offered to help.  He said no.

Hope all have a very good week ahead.
Good morning all. Start of another nice week here weather-wise. Snowbirds are still drifting in and traffic is a bit more crazy. One of these days we'll not be surprised to see a 60' articulated RV pulling a full-sized SUV, a boat and a trailer with a couple of bikes hanging off the back Icon_rolleyes .

Today is Veteran's Day. A huge thank all you vets for your service to our country. I did my four years, but all of it was here in the states so I don't think I gave as much as some. I was lucky in that respect. My heart goes out to those vets that were wounded, to those that left the service to reside on the streets and those that are in need of medical help, but are having trouble with getting it from the VA. I wish them all the best.

Happy Veterans Day, gang.

Cloudy and 15 with about an inch of snow on the ground. Falling temperatures during the day will lead to a low tomorrow morning of 1. Not really the kind of weather I would expect at this time of year. Supposed to be back in the 40s by the weekend.

Very quiet day yesterday. Accomplished nothing. This morning I'm headed to the gym and this afternoon has a lot of room on the agenda for items to be added (or not).

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning all, up early as usual, sleeping late to us means getting up around 5:00, normally, we're up by 4:00 and out to breakfast by 6:00. Why? Well, we used to do this when we had our own business, and just couldn't get out of the habit after we retired. Besides, we get there before the restaurants get crowded and noisy, plus we frequently hit Walmart on the way home, again, before the crowds show up.

Temps going down a bit into the low 80's. Getting a bit warm, but I refuse to turn on the A/C in the house. Yeah, we do that with the van, but that's normal, A/C in the house in mid November is a bit hard to go along with. I know, lots of folks right now are shoveling snow in sub-zero temps, I feel for them. I think there was a -20 somewhere around Idaho or Wyoming. That was without the wind chill factored in.
Greetings, gang.

Another cold morning. -1 right now but no wind so no wind chill. High in the mid 20s. 40s by Friday.

Quiet day yesterday. Got a call last night. My hockey playing grandson is being dual rostered. He will be playing both junior varsity and varsity hockey this season. Very proud parents (and grandparent). Nothing major on the agenda for today other than avoid going outside.

All stay safe.

Tom
Busy yesterday.  Vet thingy at memorial.  Then go get deer and take to Son, Wife and Grands.  Long trek.  Raining and temps slowly dropping.  May have a mix at end of event.  Errands and garden club tonight.

Don, state side was important too.  I spent most of my time in the Everglades watching Castro.  Felt that was important too.  Those who did fight need a special thanks too.

Tom, stay warm and don't get sick.  Been fighting a cold [not bad but irritating].  Fred spread around the hunting camp.  Icon_mad

Have a good one.
Good morning everyone, I hope those of you that are in the path of this "Arctic blast" are making the best of it. I can't believe some of the temps that I see on those weather maps. We won't discuss our weather today, I just don't have it in me to sound like I'm bragging, I'm not, but it is what it is.

Frank, you're right, any service anywhere is a sacrifice, just that those of us that never left the states didn't risk getting shot at or having to dodge bombs or mines. Yeah, working on air-to-air missal radar in 100+ heat wasn't always fun, but it's what we were trained to do. Plus, it did give me a a path to follow when I got out, as it did for many others. I still get a warm feeling when I see and hear those F16's and F35's flying over our house on approach to landing. Applause
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 23 at the moment with a high predicted to be near freezing. Had some light snow pass just to the north of me (according to radar) but may not be as lucky with the next band approaching from the west.

Routine day yesterday. Went to a meeting downtown last night. The topic was supposed to be cameras in the downtown area. I had visions of cameras on every corner, etc. Turns out they were discussing cameras on business establishments. Nothing major on the agenda for today.

Gas prices still on a roller coaster. $2.49 last Tuesday. Yesterday down to $2.32.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  Out the door to 32 degrees.  Up from 25.  OH just hit 33.  Junk to do today.  Stay warm and dry [if snowing or raining].
Have a good one.
Good morning all, little change in the weather here, hanging around the 80's for a few more days, then we're into the low 70's and some rain in the forecast for next week. Like Jim who has no idea what people mean when they mention "snow", we also get confused when we see water falling from the sky. I guess that's what is called, "rain", but we tend to forget sometimes Misngth .....

Gas has gone up here. Most stations are at $3.03, some up to 3.09 (actually that's really $3.10). One day they'll pass a law doing away with that .009. It meant something when gas was selling for $.20 a gallon, but not anymore. Sam's Club is $2.91. Tucson is still a lot lower, around $2.39.

Just looking at Gas Buddy, I see lows at $2.09 in Texas, and highs at $3.95 in California. You wonder why such a disparity, both states are a source of oil and have refineries that ship to other states, such as here in Arizona.
