Greetings, gang.

It's a partly cloudy 38 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the low 60s.

Water meter replacement guy showed up promptly at 8 and was gone by 8:20. After he left I went to Walmart for some basics. In the afternoon I worked some more on the steps and went for a bike ride. Today looks to be fairly quiet. Just more work on the steps and maybe a trip to the gym but that's looking kind of doubtful.

Spring is officially here. Coming home form Nebraska I actually had bugs on the windshield.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, glad to see that spring has arrived elsewhere too, I think though that we skipped spring and somehow went right into summer. We hit 100 in a few places around the state and probably will do the same today and tomorrow. Getting into a vehicle that's been parked outside for a while brings back memories. It doesn't matter how hot it is, it still feels the same when you get in. It's like stepping into an oven and touching metal can cause a burn, especially the shinny stuff.
Morning. Fair and 59 degrees. 70's today. Rain again tonight. Needs to dry out now. Farmers planting time here. Have a good one.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny but chilly this morning in the remote wastelands of northern Iowa. Right now it's 39 headed for a high in the upper 60s. With higher winds this afternoon (25-30 mph) and low humidity there is a red flag warning posted for this afternoon.

Got the last of the flooring on the stairs glued in place yesterday. Today I'll start working on trim and caulking. Still haven't decided which trim to use on the step edges yet. Also on tap for today is to take a couple of boards back to Menards that I wound up not needing.

Gas price here jumped again. It's now $2.74

All stay safe.

Tom
Sun 44/55 today
Gas was $2.79 but dropped to $2.64. Still higher than last year. In Pa last week it was 2.99.
I'm still around. Got some health issue to deal with, my niece's husband died from a heart attack at 55 years so we have a 75 mile trip each way either this afternoon or tomorrow. No train news.

Greetings, gang.

Sunny and a little cooler than yesterday morning. Right now it's 37 with a predicted high just short of 60.

Got several errands run yesterday morning. In the afternoon I did some yard work and got the winter toys put in the shed and the summer toys are in the garage. Also used the leaf blower to clean some of the accumulated leaves and dust out of both areas.

On tap for today is a trip to Waterloo to meet with my son for lunch. After lunch I will head to Home Depot to return some excess materials from the flooring job.

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning. Slept late for a change. Sunny and 77 already.

Both "ends" OK. Got scoped upper and lower. Had pretty nurses. Pretty former Navy Corpsman put me to "sleep".

Off to doe errands and then plant garden.

Later.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny, very windy, and 52 this morning in the remote wastelands of northern Iowa. High for today is supposed to be about 70 with a red flag warning posted through this evening. Rain chances start tonight and last through Thursday.

Had a good visit with my son yesterday and then returned excess materials to Home Depot. Easy but boring trip home. Had to tap my speedometer several times on the way home. It showed I was doing the speed limit but apparently it's not working as I got passed by everything on the road, including little old ladies on roller skates. Eek Nope

Watched a very entertaining F1 race this morning. After lunch the day will probably be spent outdoors. Looks like a decent stretch of weather for the coming week.

Frank - glad everything came out ok - in the end.

All stay safe.

Tom
Happy May Day, gang.

Cloudy and 57 right now with a predicted high in the upper 70s. Thunder, lightning, and a quarter inch of rain have occurred so far with more on the way.

Absolutely nothing accomplished yesterday. Was in a really blah mood. Today I need to clean house and do some laundry. Lady friend is coming for a visit tomorrow and Thursday.

All stay safe.

Morning all. Back from Veterans' breakfast sponsored by our Chamber. First one and will be more. Very well attended. Great food.

Notice Tom hasn't gotten out of bed yet. :o Wink

Fair and 82 degrees. Worked until dark yesterday. Tied this AM. Not use to so much walking and most with backpack sprayer on back.

Suppose to go to farms tomorrow, Walk some more.

Have a good one.
Good morning all. Just a quickie as to why you haven’t seen me here in the past week. On Friday morning I went in for some outpatient surgery. All went well, but went downhill with some aftercare in the ER. By Saturday afternoon, it became critical and I was rushed to the OR for emergency surgery. That too went well and really needed to. They let me go home yesterday, so I’m doing a lot better, I just need a few more weeks to heal. You don’t want to know the details, they’re not pretty, just know that if they didn’t do what they did, the outcome would have been a lot different within a few hours, so, although I’m upset because of why it happened, I’m grateful that it they had the tools to catch and fix it in time so that I’ll be back to normal in a few weeks.

I’ll try to check back as often as I can, but right now, staying put and resting is the best thing I can do to get back on my feet quickly.
