Early Human Services Board.  Then filed annual report to the NC Garden Club. [oh my]  Says 47 degrees but cloudy.   Makes it chilly outside.  Late yesterday I extended my Legacy Command external antenna near to the top of the ceiling and center of the Trian Box.  Figured it would give better reception.

Now wings from Food Lion wing bar.

Later.
Hello Blue
Cloudy and 37 degrees. The frozen snow is not melting.
I got my second Shingles shot Tuesday morning. Had a real bad Wednesday. Feel better today. The first one didn't bother me at all but boy this one sure did.

Good morning, yet another Friday is upon us. Soon it will be February, time just seems to fly by. Really nice days, it's what folks come here for in the winter. Temps in the 70's, I even turned the car A/C on yesterday afternoon. Rain is gone from the forecast, probably by request....

Was working on my backdrop yesterday. Remember, I said it took paint nicely. Well, it did, but I went to touch up a few spots and it shed the paint as nicely as it took it. Yeah, when the paint dries, it just wipes off with a little rubbing or some water, so I guess I'll be cleaning it off and putting on a prime coat first. Wallbang I used this on my last layout and didn't have problems like this, so who knows why now, I'll blame it on the paint. Icon_rolleyes
Greetings, gang.

Yet another cloudy day underway in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. 29 now headed for 32.

Went to the gym yesterday and local law enforcement officials were testing candidates. I wondered how many of those cops/deputy sheriffs could actually perform those tests.

Going to try something different this evening. The local County Conservation is having a cross country ski starting at 5 PM. They are providing skis and boots so what could go wrong! I'll send pictures of the cast tomorrow. : )

All stay safe.

Tom
Good Morning all
Tom, be careful. I always wanted to do that but now I am lucky to stay on my feet walking to the bathroom  Icon_e_biggrin

Looking for some rain today. Installing  a decoder in a P2K GP9 pictures to come later in my layout thread.

Got a minor cold.  Taking meds Pharmacist GF recommended.  Actually feel better.  Went and got haircut. [finally, dog catcher was chasing me]

61 degrees and some sun.  Rain tonight.

Wifey gone to work.  Told me to stay in.  May go to Train Box and build shelf under layout for Legacy command base to sit on.  Also slip off to LGS [local gun store] but 15 miles away since Hunters Haven closed.  Buddy that worked at Hunters Haven working there.   Fill up pickup as Sam's Club 2.19 for regular.

Have a good one.
Greetings from The Sticks, Idaho. It has been uncharacteristically warm this winter so far. Today was fog then rain followed by sun then more clouds. High, 47, but felt warmer when the sun was out.

Drove MIL to 2 different doc appointments, had 14 yr old daughter in a high school play and 12 yr old son in a play at local college. Says he's done with acting at the high school level. A real firecracker, that one.

Have a good weekend!
Good morning all, it's Saturday, got to sleep in almost an extra hour this morning. Got stuff to do, but that can wait, most stuff we "have" to do can always wait. I guess we're trained that if something need to be done, we must do it now. We need to be re-trained....

One thing a really have to do is to get ready for some target shooting on Monday. I have two days to do it so there's no rush, but it's on the agenda. There's a slight chance of rain, but we'll take the chance that it won't and head out regardless.
Greetings, gang.

One more in a long string of cloudy days underway. 28 and no change is predicted in the temperature for today. For the next week the temperature is predicted to be around 30 and the low at around 20.

The skiing didn't go quite as bad as Frank predicted. I did fall within the first 25 feet and it took me almost 10 minutes to get back up. Took another 10 minutes to get the skis off. Walked them back to the building and then fell again on my way to my car. At my age I don't need a broken bone or two. Pretty much done with skiing. At least I don't have any sore muscles this morning.

On tap for today is basketball for great-grandson at 11. May also change the oil on my car.

All stay safe.

Tom
We're getting precip. at about the freezing point. Weatherman was showing how much moisture is in the snow. He made a snowball and squeezed it and soaked the whole front of his outfit.
Good morning everyone, super nice here. A bit chilly early (47 right now), but back in the low to high 70's just about all week. Yup, one week to Super Bowl Sunday and also the final day of the Phoenix Open golf tournament. Don't know why they both have to be on the same day, but they always do. When they have both here, every airport around has private jets wingtip to wingtip. They park them alternately so they can squeeze more planes together. Ahh, to be rich and famous, "lets take the jet to the Open in Phoenix, and maybe hit the big game while we're there". "Call Stewart and have the jet ready, and tell Jenkins to get Andrew to bring the limo around" Icon_e_biggrin .... Nah, for us, we just turn on the TV and stay home like common folks, just 'cause we don't like the crowds. Besides, I stopped playing with airplane and car kits a very long time ago. Icon_lol

This week though, I think it's the start of Spring Training here, that in itself brings lots of folks to here....

Yeah David, we used to call them "slushballs" when we were kids. Squeeze the water out of them until they were hard as rocks.
Greetings, gang.

Foggy and 23 headed for cloudy and 32 today.

Basketball went as expected - lots of fun and mistakes. 1st and second graders. Afterwards we all went to lunch. Came home and got the oil changed. Also go t an e-mail from my sister-in-law. She and her husband will be traveling from Michigan to Omaha to visit her husband's relatives. I'll drive down to Des Moines to meet them for a very late lunch or very early dinner. They anticipate being in Des Moines around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

Absolutely nothing on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Afternoon all.  Church and now home.  55 and real breezy.  I have escaped the crud that the County Commissioners and County Senior Staff has.  So bad retreat for tomorrow canceled and other meetings.  Eek   Took some meds recommended by Pharmacist and done real good.  Now Wifey says sore throat [I never had] and she feels sick.  Pharmacist said yesterday, whole town is sick.  Handing out Tamiflu like crazy.

Been being lazy and staying in.  Yesterday afternoon was warm and no wind.  Built a shelf for my Lionel Legacy command base to sit on under layout.  Clears up crowded spaces on top.  Earlier had extended my external antenna from the layout top to the only post in Train Box.  Now it is in the center and should give excellent range.  Didn't have a problem before but now it is a lot better.  Buddy in Cerritos CA found the cables for me.

Deck, what part of Idaho are you from?  In one of my retirement jobs, I was vender rep to Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's.  I "opened" the Cabela's in Boise [July] and then Cabela's in Post Falls [second week in Jan and you guessed it, snowed the whole time].  DAZ knows as I "opened" the Bass Pro Shops in Phoenix.  Got to meet a lot of train and shooting folks while working that job.  3 1/2 years of airplanes and hotels.  Flying got worse with delayed or canceled flights.  Plus over crowded planes.  Quit to become Mayor of the town.  Think I stepped out of the frying pan into the fire.   Eek  Just retired from that after 12 years.  Now County Commissioners are keeping me busy.

BR, just stay in and warm.

Tom, ice and snow is not good for us old folks.  Maybe the reason you couldn't get up, you were dressed like Ralphie's brother in The Christmas Story.   Icon_e_biggrin

Have a good one.
Good morning all, ice, snow, slushballs, Ralphie's brother? All that brings back long, long ago memories. As for short-term memories, well,  we're headed out to the desert this morning to do a bit of target shooting. Temps right now (5:00 AM) are in the mid-50's, highs again in the low 70's. I just hope there's not much wind to blow over our targets. Icon_e_biggrin Not bragging, just telling it like it is.

The Phoenix Open is in full swing, tickets are sold out for today, but still available for Sunday. Prices range from $34 to 129 that day. Spring Training doesn't start for another three weeks, I checked for tickets on opening day here in Surprise, they range from $15 to 219. I'm not sure what you get for $219, but someone must buy them. Just think, there's around 500.000 people attend the Open, you can see how they can afford to give away millions to the players.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy (again) and 25 headed for 28 so not much change in the temperature. Had a brief dusting of snow overnight, less than half an inch.

A more productive day than I originally thought yesterday. Got two turnouts repaired downstairs but found a third one that needs work. This morning I'll head to the gym and while there I'll talk to someone about a personal trainer. I can't get rid of that last 15 pounds and need to bring in a professional. Could be interesting.

Frank - never saw the movie but I can guess what he would look like. The weather was not bat with temperature at just about freezing.

Also on the agenda for today is to gas up the car. Price is down to $2.16. I want to fill it up before it drops further and the oil companies go broke from missing all that extra profit.

All stay safe.

Tom
