Sun today, snow tonight.  5 this morning headed for the upper 20s.  Some light snow overnight but it looks like a bigger chance for Saturday night and Sunday.

Got the laundry caught up yesterday and that's about all.  Today I'll need to get a haircut and do some packing.  Also may start planning a trip.  Earlier I was thinking about Key West but with son's health up in the air I'm thinking a shorter trip might be better.  i would just like to get away for a while.

All stay safe.

Resting from busy day. At 2:15 rain hit hard after one bolt of lightning. I was at coffee place up the street with a candidate for County Commissioner [wants my endorsement]. Wind got hard [seen worse in a hurricane]. 5 minutes or so. Drove up the street going home. Limbs off of trees at Hardees in intersection but nothing bad. Got home and little limbs off of big willow oak in front yard. That is not unusual. Get on computer and loaded Wifey's new Echo Dot. Then started getting calls and texts. Seems east Rolesville got hit. Trees down and one on top of a double wide. Same one hit and replaced [we gave a variance] 6 years ago from same thing. Now TV folks says National Weather Service coming to see if rotation. undefined Then loaded Prime on Wifey's smart TV upstairs.

Lots of old trees down in Raleigh and area. Power outages but not us [knock on wood].

Wifey brought home chicken pastry and green beans from her Sister's. undefined

Raining hard. Some areas flooded. Nothing bad. Down east report from my lady buddy at farm says wet but all OK.

Hope all are OK here on forum.

And a good Friday morning to ya all. Pretty drastic storms around, best of luck to all in their paths. Here, we just have low temps and wind for now, rain in the forecast but all over the map on chances and when. I just don't know where they get their info from. I know there are several different "models" that they use and I guess, like in model railroading, each model maker has their own way of doing things, hence the different forecasts.  Waiting

Still busy, each day has something going on, but I'm able to sneak into my train room and do a bit more on my backdrop. It's been a long, long time since I've painted scenes, so lots of things get painted over and done again.

I'm really going to try to get the new challenge started this weekend. Just a hint, it will be a build challenge.... 2285_

Workng on it, frank.

Greetings, gang.

Light snow and 25 greeted me this morning. About an inch needs to be removed from the sidewalks.

Headed out the door around noon to visit granddaughter and her family. Oldest great-granddaughter plays JV basketball. Going to a game. None of her kids know I will be there. Should be a fun surprise. Be back tomorrow.

All stay safe.

Tom
Hello Blue
Well fellers we got about 2 inches of snow. Walked it off with the push shovels.
Not much going on here, as I have said in the past at our age going out in winter is an as needed thing.
Just checkin in.
S.J.
hi all . haven't done much last few days as we were both sick with colds . funny how as we age a cold knocks you flat when 20 years ago it was just a pain in the caboose but you kept on going , got to go into Yuma today and pick up hearing aid.

stay safe all.
Power dropped this AM at 8:30.  Came on at 2 while I was going to a meeting about a library site in Rolesville.  Then back to the place to discuss economic development in Franklin County [county north of us] and its airport.  I'm working on that for those folks.

Hope all have as good one.
Good morning all, warming up for a few days into the 70's, then back down and rain, some say there are chances all next week. Like, Tuesday can have either an 80%, 9% or 20% chance of rain. The best chance is Monday, they all say that....

Today is the Prada Del Sol (Parade in the sun), in Scottsdale. Every year they have a bunch of Pony Express riders come in with the mail from up north. It's probably the neatest and most colorful parade we have here, lots of horses, people in native dress and best of all, no attachments to any sporting events and no humongo balloon things flying around. Following the parade, there's the rodeo. Been in Arizona a very long time and haven't attended either, just not into crowds and looking for decent parking spaces.

Frank, sounds to me like you never retired, just shifted sideways a bit, from attending meetings as mayor to attending meetings as a member of the community.
48 and sunny [guessers said would not reach by 42].  May get showers later today.  WHAT!!!!  Friend Gail sent Wifey photos of snow in Athens, GA.

Cooked a lb. of bacon this AM.  Then biscuits.  Wifey's favorite is bacon and cheese biscuits.  Rest stored in frig for more.  Cleaned the whole range.  Now use back brace and vacuum.

No more power outages due to poor slow service of Puke Energy. [knock on wood]

Trying to help neighboring county [poorer county] to kick start their economy and development.  Get the airport [now has jet service but not being advertised and pushed.  Hundreds of acres around it for development.  No one pushing it.

Hope all have a great weekend.  Some getting snow I see.
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 25 this afternoon.  Snow moves in tonight and temps will rise overnight to low 30s.  Sleet, freezing rain, and rain for tomorrow with a high of 34.

Back from Omaha.  Great-granddaughter was completely surprised.  The look on her face when she saw me was something I will remember for a long time.  Fun weekend with the family.  Nothing planned for the remainder of today.  Probably some snow shoveling tomorrow.

All stay safe.

Tom
Weather was nice for the time of year. We had a bit of a trip (walk through the "antiques"* mall), then went on to a hobby shop. I picked up some ballast as the stuff I have (in limestone) is N scale and looks more like plaster when installed. (Is John's Lab still in business?) SWMBO went to a craft store and found a jigsaw.

* Can it be an antique if it's younger than I am?
Good morning everyone. Been really nice the past few days, one more day in the 70's, then it drops to the 50's and 60's. If I average all the forecasts, there's a tiny chance of rain today, much better for tomorrow and Tuesday, with another storm heading in later this week. Don't care one way or the other, just that I've been putting off getting the van washed since they've been saying rain all month and so far, zippo....

Not much else going on, just a lazy day yesterday, may try to do a bit on my backdrop today, we'll see....
61 and sunny.  Church this AM.  Wifey was talking afterward.  Though we would be closing the door with the pastor.

May do some chores here later today.

Enjoy the week ahead.
Hello Blue
Snow arrived about 5pm. Suppose to be out of here by midnight. High in the 30s Monday, gonna get taxes done, no big refunds, just like getting it over with.
S.J.
Good morning all, not raining yet, but suppose to today and tomorrow. A two-day break and more rain in the forecast. Temps today pushing 70, then goes down tomorrow, probably the cold air from up north.

I think the Oscar's were on last night, watched, "Worst Cooks in America" instead. Can you imagine, what if every major industry had not one, but several award shows just like the movies do, "the award for best-looking sub sandwich goes to.....", or, "the award for the fastest tire change goes to Joe's Garage in Debunktown, Iowa"..... Yeah, just a bit of sarcasm there, but from what I hear, the losers all go home with a bunch of free stuff worth around $200,000 and they don't even have to show up.....

Got a real busy day today, I might take a break and get some more done on my backdrop though, just for a change of pace.

Ya all have a great day.... Icon_e_biggrin
