Afternoon all.  Been lazy this AM.  Had long day yesterday.  Went east early, did work on shelter.  Came home and went to Wifey's cousin to take battery for 140 tractor.  He was wrong with the 6V [all those tractors were 6V].  Tractor had been converted to 12V.  So, exchange today and etc.  Afternoon will be full of errands.

Gro.  Went three times in one day.  Get home and say, "Oh I forgot."

Hope all are OK.  65 and sort of cloudy.
Hello Blue
I still be here. Cloudy and 44 right now.
Being in the elderly group yes I have concerns about this virus and no one is telling us how to treat it. Geez by now we all know to wash our hands.
S.J.
Good morning everyone. Did it rain yesterday.... no, not a question, the emphasis is on DID.... Had to go to Sun City around 8 yesterday morning, traffic backed up for miles, streets flooded and so much rain that it was hard to see. After that, it was sporadic most of the day. We got close to 2" here in Surprise, a few places around the valley were pushing 3". There would have been no Spring Training games because of this, but they had already called off the rest of the games because of this virus thing. Postponed the start of baseball season by two weeks. Went to the small Walmart near us, no bottled water, complexly cleaned out saw one woman putting gallons of vinegar in her car, I'm assuming to disinfect something, a lot of somethings. The trunk was full of them. Toilet paper and cleaning products are also wiped out. Why, a few people are panicking and a bunch of others are doing it because these others are and they don't want to be cut short.

More rain though the next two weeks, all but this coming Sunday. Hmmm, I wonder, are churches going to start to not hold services? People being told not to shake hands, and go to the hospital if you have symptoms. I pity the poor health care workers, many who are probably dressing in hazmat suits to deal with these people.
Happy Friday the Thirteenth, gang.

Sunny and 29 at the moment with a predicted cloudy high of around 47.

I went to the venue for the severe weather presentation to held by the county emergency management team. Of course they were a no show as I expected but one would think they could at least put up a notice on the local newspaper's website (which featured a big front page article on it) or on their own facebook page. Came home and went for a 3 mile walk. A little chilly and windy but it felt good to get out and burn some calories. Noting major planned for today. Still trying to find out if a play in the next town over will be performed tonight.

Don - isn't that about a 5 year supply of rain for you?

All stay safe.

Tom
Morning.  66 and rainy.  Folks panicking. Crazy.  Guess County Chair is going to declare a state of emergency.  He talked to me last night and I advised him to do so.  Frees up a lot of things.  Schools will have to close.  School Board member texted me that they haven't discussed at length.  Strange.  All County employees who can, work from home.

Toilet paper thing is crazy.  Wifey went to BJ's to get some as we have only 4 rolls in the house.  Only two large packs on the shelf.  Folks hauling out lots of it.

Again, my Dr. said some will get it, some of those will go to the hospital and some of those will not make it.  Not everybody and so be calm.

POSTPONE is a word.  Canceled March Madness.  Why not play it in late April or early May? Give the kids a chance to show.

Errands today.  Meetings canceled next week so it seems.

Have a good one.
Yeah Frank, I agree. Just got back from the big Walmart. We're there usually around 7:00AM, not very crowded then except today. Hordes of people filling up baskets, water shelves--empty, toilet paper shelves--empty, paper towel shelves--empty, canned pasta shelves--empty, many other shelves look ravaged by desperate and uninformed folks. Saw people buying gallon jugs of water as fast as they're getting them out of the carton. Haven't been to any other store, but I'm betting that it's the same there. A friend of our called yesterday asking if I could take her to Costco, she's running out of toilet paper. Fat chance that Costco has any, but for her, we'll go.

Tom, we haven't seen this much rain in this short a time in a very long while, we've actually had about 20% of our average yearly rainfall in the past two days, but yeah, it seems like five-years worth for sure...
A lot of the hoarding is being sold on the internet. Stores should/should have limited how much you could buy.
This from our local online paper.

Not sure how much you have to eat to prevent the flu.

Take one roll before meals and at bedtime. Drink plenty of water to get that extra full feeling. 35 35 35 35
ya know why there hording tp , every time some one sneezes it scares the crap out of them .  dread shopping next week as its our regular day in town shopping I can just picture  what it will be like  and don.t like what I see.
Good morning all, I agree Jim, don't look forward to shopping, just want to buy what we need and not stock up for fear of zombies or other things. Hate to disappoint our friend, but we will not be going to Costco this coming week. I see stories of fights breaking out at Costco stores around the country. Sheesh..... Stooges8uq

Was still raining when we went to bed last night. Drying up this morning but we are close to 3" so far this week, some areas to the north are over that, some spotting areas are under 1". Go figure, I guess that's what they mean by scattered showers. Still have rain in the forecast for at least all of next week, some forecasts skip Sunday and Monday, but my forecast of 51.00254% for each day still holds true.
Happy Pi day, gang.

Snow and 28 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be 37 so whatever accumulates won't last long.

Quiet day yesterday. I did get my taxes done and went for a 2+ mile walk. Managed to get a blister on the back of my Achilles tendon which then broke. Also got my census form in the mail. I'll go on line and fill that out later.

First item on the agenda for today is to get some potatoes from the grocery store. Otherwise I'm in pretty good shape, grocery-wise.. Interesting article on CNN that kind of struck home.

Other activities for today will include putting some insulation on a hot water line and repairing a garden hose.

All stay safe.

Tom
Back from the grocery store. Everything was calm and shelves were stocked. No signs of panic. Gas was down to $1.88.9

Tom
Morning.  63 and sunny.  Stopped at gro to visit with the manager.  Said up 62% in sales.  Shelves stocked this AM were empty.  Crazy.

Off to Wifey's kin.  Guys cooking for lunch.

Our Epidemiologists are telling us that it will peak in 2 weeks.  Gone by 12.  We'll see.  Wake Co. Schools refuses to close even though county in in state of emergency.  Put out some BS they were the health and well being of the county.  Don't even have a nurse for every school.

Enjoy the day.
Had to run out to the little Walmart around 6:00 to pick up something for breakfast plus a few other things while we're there. People all over the place. Didn't find everything we needed so I stopped by the big Walmart since it was on the way home. Panic city.... Bare shelves all over, no flour, no eggs, no paper products, no soup, no pasta, no canned prepared foods, some water, limit one case and going fast, don't know about more than that, since a few of those things were on our shopping list we didn't get everything we came for.

It's crazy, panic buying, hording. I hear you can now buy toilet paper on eBay. Reminds me when ammo was in short supply. People checking when the trucks get to Walmart and stand in line for hours waiting for them to open the cartons. Some would actually go out in the parking lot and try to resell what they just bough, and a heft profit.... 35 35

Just looked at eBay, toilet paper going for over $4.00 a roll, one seller wanted $12.00. Large "Costco-type" packs going for $125.00/ There's been profiteering since man walked upright, and that's a pity...... Waiting

Gas dropping another two cents, all the way down to $2.89. Icon_rolleyes
