Good morning folks

It is 54 going up to 61 but the wind is still blowing.

Yesterday did some cleaning in my daughter's old bedroom. Got some furniture down from the attic to use in there.

I did get some time to weather three of the reefers. These reefers were used that need some tender loving care that I picked up cheap. They are old MDC Roundhouse kits. I have three more of these used kits or cars. I finished building one and repairing another. The third kit when I was assembling the kit one of the trucks snapped in half when I was inserting the wheels. Never had that happen before. I have three unopened kits which I also started last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Greetings, gang.

And a foggy good morning to all.  Visibility is about 3 blocks and the temperature is 55.  Supposed to clear off and get to the mid 70s later.

Had a decent workout at the gym yesterday morning.  In the afternoon I took a nice long walk.  As I walked past a parked police car I heard my name called.  Not always a good thing but this time it was.  It was a young lady who used to work as a security guard at the factory where I worked.  We had a nice chat.  Nice to catch up with here.  Didn't hurt that she's cute.  Icon_e_biggrin

When I got home there was a message on the machine from my younger daughter.  Being the dutiful father that I am I returned her call.  She said "I called witih a computer problem but figured it out myself.  Bye." and hung up!  She called back a few seconds later and we had a good laugh over it.  Talked to her and her son for almost an hour.

Nothing major on the agenda for today.  Walk and a bike ride.  The walk and/or the bike ride may include a trip to the ice cream store.

All stay safe.

Morning. Sun coming out. Guessers missed it again. Actually light showers north of us and at the farms east. Surprise. Now they don't know if it will rain next week as a subtropical goes up and off the coast. 67 and warming. Now dropping guessed temps Sat. and Sun. to 87 instead of 90's.

Suckered tomato plants. Got a couple of little ones. Behind this year compared to last year.

Got "skin Dr." appointment this afternoon.

Stay well.
Good morning all, should be a decent day today, temps just a bit over 90, going target shooting first, eat breakfast after so we shoot when it's cooler.

By Saturday, theaters and malls can open. Still a lot of people balking at the idea, want everyone to stay at home. I'm guessing that these are folks that are still getting a paycheck. There's a few million others that just want to get back to work or get their businesses going again. Too many will never reopen, too many in the unemployment line. One restaurant opened near ASU with upper and lower level outdoor eating. News helicopters were circling around showing how people are not doing their social distancing there, but a physical inspection by the county says otherwise. Anything for a story.
hi all. weather is nice the inside of the house was 76 this morning after opening it up last night. leg is healed enough for me to be able to sit at computer for a spell , sewlling has gone dpwn and pain level has decreased some. wife has got on a spring cleaning jag so we have been sorting the pantry today. Sad
Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 72 today, like yesterday was supposed to be. Clouds finally moved out after supper. I was hoping for them to leave earlier in the day.

Walked and rode the bike yesterday. Stopped at the bank to get some cash. Teller took the money out of the wrong account. Have to watch them very carefully. The parts arrived for the outdoor track so I started working on that. Got a lot done but there's more to do today. Hopefully by late afternoon I'll be able to sit on the patio with a Corona (not the virus) and watch the train run for the first time this season. Also on the to-do list for today is a trip to the gym and maybe a bike ride.

All stay safe.

Good morning everyone, yet another Friday is upon us, not too far from hitting the middle of the year and I'm still not finished with last year.

Did go target shooting yesterday. Just two other groups there, shows that folks are getting back to work here. We stopped by our favorite truck stop for breakfast, still closed, don't know why, it's a big place and truckers surly need to eat. Not sure if their other facilities were open, laundry, showers, rec room, rest rooms all for the truckers. All the fast food counters there were open, but we weren't in the mood for Taco Bell or Subway for breakfast so we found a Cracker Barrel that was open.

Temps still in the normal range, low to mid-90's, even see a few high 80's next week, not low enough to turn off the A/C. Nope

Jim, glad you're doing better. 2285_

Everyone have a great weekend, and hope that your area is starting to get back to normal. I think it'll be years before this is all behind us though, and things may never get back to the way they were.
76 and sunny. Going to be a warm one.

Out the door to feed trailer parks. Got a refrigerated box truck following me on my routes to trailer parks. Full of boxes of fresh produce. 280 meals and 200 boxes. WOW. Extension Services is sending my Hispanic buddies to help. Lisa has to take her Mom to the airport to fly back to CA. I was going to be on my own. Wanted Spanish speaking person as adding a new big trailer park today.

Have a good one and stay well.
Good morning folks

It is 71 going up to 81.

Looks like I will be pulling the cover off the first floor air conditioner.

Nice day yesterday. Did some straightening up around the pond.

I did work on finish weathering the express reefer. I also played around with lightening for taking photos. Will do some more experimenting.

I hope everybody has a good day.
This is a pretty cool video of how they filmed the crash scene in The Fugitive decades ago:

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 51 outside my window at the moment. The high for today is supposed to be a rainy 51. Could get an inch and a half by the time the rain ends tomorrow.

I finished putting the track back together on the Backyard & Southern yesterday afternoon but need to do some work on the roadbed. I did discover that Titebond III works well for holding the ballast (pea gravel) in place. Also got in a 10 mile bike ride and installed two new window blinds. I need two more but they were out of that size.

As long as the rain holds off I'll work on the roadbed. Also need to do laundry today and of course the usual bike ride.

Charlie - neat video. Thanks for posting it.

Chief - well done, sir!

All stay safe.

Good morning all, just another day in paradise. Temps still in the 90's (normal) and even dipping into the 80's about mid-week. Still need the A/C and it's starting to show on our utility bill.

Our, "stay at home" order expired at midnight. We can now go out without feeling like a criminal. They are still trying to make you feel guilty though. Many restaurants are open, bars are not unless their major role is food. Noticed that many fast-food restaurants are still doing drive-thru or pickup only, maybe because their seating arrangements won't allow "social distancing", which is still the buzzword of the day. Churches are opening but again, some are only allowing 25% attendance. The TV stations are still showing shots of the crowded restaurant near the ASU campus, as usual, they've been doing that for days hoping that we won't notice and think that this is the norm right now.

Have a great weekend doing whatever you want as long as it complies with the local concepts of how you should be doing it. Waiting

And yeah Frank, thank you for what you're doing, I'm sure many folks are grateful. Applause
Good morning folks

Shaping up to be a nice day. Temperature is 71 going up to 75.

Plan to spend time outside. I have to replace the wheels on the shop vac and tidying up the yard.

Yesterday we finished replanting the last two water lilies in the pond. Straightened up around the pond and removed some saplings growing too close to the house.

I redid the temporary track on the layout so I can run trains again. A portion of it was knocked aside during the recent disaster that the AS-16 was damaged. Speaking of the AS-16 the hand rails came from Bowser. Now I need to work up the nerve to install them.

I hope everybody has a good day.
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 54 at the moment with an expected high of only 59 and breezy. Got over an inch of rain last night. A quick check this morning shows the shed floor still dry.

Discovered another issue with the outdoor track yesterday that took quite a while to fix. Also did some track bed repair but more work to do there. Had an oops last night. Sometime between 5:30 an 9 the shower caddy fell over. Apparently one of the shelves caught the hot water handle and turned it on. I discovered it about 9 last night when I went to wash up a pan and found no hot water. Heading to the basement to check the hot water heater I discovered water on the floor. (Did I mention I had already called a plumber for the slow running floor drain? Yeah, yesterday was not the best of days.) The water heater was working but it looked like the water was rising n the basement. I thought that was a little odd. Went upstairs and discovered the aforementioned collapse. Water bill next month could be just a touch high.

Nothing major on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Tom
Good morning everyone, wakie, wakie, eggs and baccie. Well, maybe just a waffle and juice this morning.

Today should be the hottest day of the week at 98, suppose to get into the 80's for a few days, almost sorry we put away the longjohns and fur lined jackets... Goldth

Things here are kinda open, kinda not yet. Still a lot of carry-out, don't see any fast food joints open for eat-in. A real good time to be in the Plexiglas business. Just about every store has some at the checkup counters, same goes for restaurant pickup. I sure hope they eventually go down. Now they're saying that there were lots of miscounts and that the numbers reported were grossly over what was the actual count. The same goes for a "model" that was totally wrong and the cause of the UK to shut down. Now they tell us....

Well, do your best to have a great weekend regardless. Our lakes are open and you can even go tubing down the river on an inner tube or raft, even our parks and swimming pools are open, you just have to practice safe "social distancing", that's all.... Icon_rolleyes
